WOW - I just sold my old gold........

Just took our old gold to Dallas Gold and Silver exchange and got $550!

Anyone that is better at conversion that could give me a quote on how much a 14k gold necklace that weighs 28.4 grams(1.358oz) would be worth roughly at todays prices?

One other problem I'm having is that I have a necklace that is labeled 14KSP anyone have a clue what that is?

Send three things into USGB. I was told two weren't precious metals even though they were stamped as such. But one of mine was listed as silver. Got about $7. Not bad for something that I never used. Have a few other silver items going in this week.

Yeah was stamped 14KSp and wasnt sure, so they said to send it in anyway.

Just sent a few silver in again, will see what I get this time around.

The sp probably stand for something like an overlay

I sent in mine last Thursday, only about 8 small rings and a bracelet. It didn't even cover the bottom of a sandwich baggie and I got $742.80. Woohoo!

I'm scared to sell my gold. I think the US dollar is falling so hard that gold will be only thing worth holding onto which is why people are getting so much money for it now. $1000 is a pittance compared to what it will go for.

That is why it would be ideal to have gold and other metals as well to sell when their value is high, but to also keep x amount of metals so as to continue to invest in them.

Steve told me there were a few small pieces that were actually gold plate which they don't take. They will return them to me. I'm curious to see which they are.

sent mine in yesterday...1 gold chain, 1 gold ring and 1 silver ring, 1 watch that I have no idea if it is real, and 1 pair of very tiny gold earrings.....holding my breath..will let you know.

That's what I did. They were very professional. You go into a private room (with a lockable door)...the gold guy is behind plexiglass, like a bank teller. He tested and weighed each piece in front of me, showed me which pieces were 10K (HS ring) and quite a few that were the more valuable 18K.

Showed me the total and cut me a check on the spot. Walked over to the bank, $3K richer! (And that was when gold was only in the $900/ounce range.)
