Hmm...not a bad deal. I just got the call from USGB.......for a hodgepodge of random stuff, I ended up with $364!!! The rep said the money will hit my PayPal account by tomorrow morning, possibly even by the end of the day!

OK, I'm biting the bullet and sending some of my old gold too. I went on the USGB site tonight to get the instructions.

I just packed what I am selling:
Class Ring - Men's (1)
Class Ring - Women's (1)
Emerald Ring - Women's (1) (the emerald is teeny tiny)
Tennis Bracelet - Women's (1) (the diamonds are teeny tiny)
Cross Charms (3)
Heart Charm (1)

I just need to call FedEx to have them come pick up my package. I'll do that tomorrow morning since it's already 9:15pm here.

I have some other rings to sell but they have some big stones in them and I want to take them to a jeweler to see what they are first.

One thing I've learned so far the next time I do this ---- when calling FedEx to schedule a pick-up give them a time to pick up your package. When I called at 8am this morning the rep asked me how late they could pick up and I said "anytime - I am home all day". I got excited because I saw the FedEx truck across the street before 10am and thought the driver would head to my house next. Nope. It's 6pm now and FedEx still hasn't arrived. I called to follow-up and was told they could pick up as late as 8pm and reminded me I didn't specify a time. I know, I know, lesson learned. So, here I am all stinkafied because I didn't take a shower because I didn't want to miss the doorbell ringing when the driver came by.

FedEx finally came. At 8pm. Twelve hours after I called. It was worse than waiting for a cable repairman! Next time I will definitely specify a P/U time.

Anyway, I took a nice long COOL shower (it was 97 here today) after the FedEx driver left. Ahhhhh ..............

I'll report back what USGB offers after I hear from them. Come on big money - no whammies - stop!

I just talked to a representative that said they pay for semi-precious stones if they have a resale value and diamonds only if they are over a carot. Some of my jewelry has small diamonds. Did you pop them out?

I had a pair of earrings I wasn't sure about and it turned out they were vermeil. When they called to give me my payout they told me this and said they would send them back to me. I told them they could just throw them out as I didn't want them back.

Hoffman1, I had Fed Ex pick up my gold last Tuesday around 7:30pm, and the money was in my PayPal account on Friday by noon.

From what I have read and seen (the experience of friends), you won't make as much from a local jeweler as you will from US Gold Buyers.

FedEx picked up my package Wednesday June 24
USGB called me with my offer on Thursday June 25
I received my check in the mail Monday June 29

It was very easy and very fast. I have some other jewelry I was holding back because I just wanted to send a few things to see how the experience would go. I'll definitely use USGB again! I'm actually getting ready to pack up my other stuff for FedEx pickup .....

In recent transactions when I have had to get a refund the money has just stayed as a paypal balance for me to use. I would rather have the money go to my account so I can set it aside for Disney??? Any help with this???

Your PayPal account should be linked to your bank account; you can transfer the money from your PayPal account into your bank account by clicking on the "Withdraw Funds" link at the top.

My paypal account is not link to a bank account and I just requested a check, I think there is a small fee for having a check sent to you, like $1.50 or something like that.
