Wow! Christian Bale has some anger issues!

The lack of standards in this country is alarming. The inability to hold people in the public eye who are our leaders and who hold a position to influence to some kind of standard is scary. This excuse that we are human, no one is perfect is such a cop out. Everything is ok because people just can't seem to behave properly or respect the fact that we are examples for generations of kids coming behind us. And we wonder why each generation is more and more out of control.

Yes, its just one outburst, big deal right? One inconsequential actor on a movie set. In the big scheme of things its nothing. That's how we seem to treat everything. Sorry, but to me its just a big cop out, rationalization for people to do what they want, when they want since nothing they do should matter to anyone else.

I don't care how angry and rightfully so you may be, try reacting that way to your employees or employers...lemme know how that works for you.

I agree. There is no excuse for his out-of-control ridiculous tantrum. I think he made himself look pretty foolish.

And the more obnoxious and rude he is, the more people watch, and the more he gets paid.

This verbal abuse and rage isn't limited to acting, folks. I'm sure there are millions of stories about this kind of behavior in the naked city. Since he's famous its deplorable, but when the leader of a fortune five hundred company does it, it's just business.

I will admit that I do not follow pop culture and do not know who Christian Bale or Gordan Ramsey are. However, this kind of behavior is unacceptable and I cannot believe the people here who feel it was justified.

I didn't know either, so I had to google him to find out. He's apparently a master chef on TV. If he rants and raves like Christian Bale did, I can't imagine myself making excuses for him. I don't really care what occupation someone has; behaving abusively toward someone else is not okay.

I loved Gordon Ramsey on the BBC channel and loved him. He does cuss a lot, but he wasn't yelling and screaming at people. But the American version of the show makes him into some monster. I can't stand his behavior on that show. It has to be an act!

My friend was berated twice by an actor yesterday because she wouldn't let him use her computer. Finally she told him the computer was to do her work, not his. During the dinner break he went out and bought a laptop and about eight hours later mumbled how sorry he was.

I'm sorry that a fellow professional was so rude. Sounds like a pushy, class-A #1 jerk. People should be nice to others when they're on the way up^, cause sooner or later they *will* come down v. Plus *anyone* who is intentionally rude to crew should watch their back - maybe the zipper to their costume will fail, kwim? Background, even if union, aren't as well-regarded by TPTB - they're just a necessary evil in the eyes of production. And if you're second-tier you might not want to rock the boat.

Some actors are unfortunately like that jerk, but many actors are decent, hard-working,considerate people even after they become "stars". My favorite class acts on a set have been people like Will Smith, Kathy Bates, Gene Hackman, Garry Marshall, Sidney Poitier + many others. The true greats don't need to denigrate others so they can puff themselves up.

Very true! My DH literally turned around into leonardo decaprio at the craft services table... dh was scratching his face ..so the bump actually resulted in him poking himself in the eye.....LOL
When he started to tell me about this ..I was afraid I would hear that LD was rude..but he apologized to my DH....
