The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

I do think many don’t see all the things I see on various groups for rent. It very disheartening to see 1 person renting out 10 reservations Boardwalk Resort studios and VGC studios in one posting. At least on broker sites I have slight hope it’s *might* be from various owners.
And you’d think that would be the easiest commercial operation for DVC to shut down, being so blatant. Maybe that person on FB is skating just inside the 20-reservation limit. DVC needs to re-evaluate that standard.

You would think. Maybe they use aliases.

I would selfishly love someplace that served chicken nuggets/fingers. I've actually thought a few times about switching my upcoming BWV stay during Easter since there isn't any place on the BW that sells them (as I understand it). My 4-year old just loves his chicken nuggies. That said, I'm sure he will survive 🤣.

Maybe they’ll move the corn dog place there and add items. As I posted on the Disney Resorts forum, I’d prefer burgers and salads, but I’ll take hot dogs if there’s indoor, air conditioned seating.
I believe they can not put a grill inside… so perhaps that is a reason burgers may be a no-go but hot dogs could work…..

Salads sound fantastic!

Does anyone have a hack for the cushonless balcony chairs?
I have read that some use extra bed pillows or the decorative sofa pillows to somewhat cushion them. No one seems happy with those uncomfortable chairs and the fixes don't really solve the problem, but somewhat lessen it.

I have in a pinch used the couch throw pillows to cushion the back - the flat metal seat bottom isn't that bad, but the very low hard bar at the back is highly uncomfortable.

But my usual solution is to grab one of the kitchen table chairs and bring it out on the balcony to sit on. MUCH more comfortable.

I second using the Kitchen Chairs. We do that all the time as well.

nothing worked for me...i tried several towels from the pool...couch cushions etc and it was still terrible.
Does anyone ask about this during the owner’s meeting?

It seems like “why don’t we have seat cushions for our outdoor metal chairs?” is a pretty legitimate question.

Don’t other resorts have all metal chairs? What makes these designed so bad for balcony sits? Seemed ones like at BCV & AKV, have sat on, were just fine.

The design is the issue, not the material. Even previous metal chairs were slightly contoured on the seat, and had sloped higher backs to rest on. The Boardwalk chairs are dead flat on the seat, and the back is almost 90 degrees, and only 13-15 inches high, so the metal bar along the top digs right into your lower back.

The metal chairs at Saratoga and Boulder Ridge are MUCH better, with full backs and contoured seats and armrests. The older chairs at Boardwalk were like this, and they were fine:

On the hotel side of BW we were in last year they had extremely comfortable and cushioned chairs. (Blue Chairs in Picture)

Here are the the Aulani chairs:

A mesh back and reasonably comfortable.

The GV at BW has the same basic B chairs as all of the other rooms.IMG_3075.jpegIMG_2601.jpeg

Grand Villa at Aulani and Presidential Suite at Boardwalk...nice!!! :-)

That Aulani angle is great with the Four Seasons and ocean in the background. Good pics!
