Would your recommend splitting a stay to experience different resorts?

Hi,

I split a stay once between Wildness lodge and OKW. It was fun, the kids like it. You can usually get early check in if it's not peak season.:)

We've done it and are doing it again. Its a little hassle - you are roomless for pretty much one whole day and have to go through the checkin process twice - but since they transfer your luggage for you, it isn't that much of a hassle. I prefer to do one night somewhere else, then move on day two - because then I can plan to have clothes for one single day on the top of the suitcase and I don't pack and unpack. But if you are either organized or don't care, packing and unpacking isn't huge. Its a bigger deal with smaller kids who create large messes all over a hotel room in just a few minutes and you can spend half an hour looking for the teddy bear.

I think its easier to spend your whole vacation in one room, but sometimes the deciding factor isn't easier - its getting the most out of the trip you are taking.

As you can see from my sig, we definitely do split stays. This is because we can not all agree on one resort, plus for our June trip we are there for 2 weeks. Next June we are probably going to do VWL (3), BCV (3), and AKV (8). I did it when my children were very small, and can't tell a big difference other than they could not help carry stuff! But if you are not cheap like me:rolleyes1 , you can tip bell services to come retrieve your luggage. For some reason, I don't mind using them when checking in, but always take my stuff to the car when leaving:confused3 .

The "Guy Method" is helpful to me.

I simply put my suitcase on the bed, and then dump the contents on the floor. In the morning, I pick up stuff from the floor and put it on. When I return home in the evening, I disrobe and place the dirty clothes in a different pile on the floor. At the end of the trip, I pick everything up from the floor and throw it into the suitcase.

What's the problem with packing and unpacking? :confused3

Being the only female in my family, I know all about the guy method. :sad2: It also involves running out for a swim when the bags re-emerge from the closet.
