Would you take a friend to HHN if he's never been to either park?

An out of town friend will be visiting in Oct and he will be on a small budget. He's never been to either park but wants to go to HHN. As an AP holder, I can get him HHN ticket for cheap, much cheaper than a regular 2-park pass.

I guess my concern is, as cool as HHN is, it won't be an ideal representation of Universal/IOA because all the lights are off, the regular decorations are not visible, the natural beauty of IOA especially will not be apparent, etc.

Thoughts?

Could you splurge and purchase him a ticket to one of the parks and do Stay and Scream so that he could have the day at the park and HHN? Not sure if this is in your budget or if he would accept a "free" ticket but thought it might be a nice gift.

I'd say definitely! You are right it will not be about the parks that night but it's still light enough at first for him to get the general idea. HHN is such an experience, I'd do it for sure. I might say I'd go as far as getting the express passes so that he's ensured he'll see all the houses and be able to ride some of the rides as well (if it was financially feesible) and you don't find a way to do the Stay and Scream.

yes take him to HHN!! just dont ask him what he wants to do next. we went for the first time last year and the people in our group who had been many times before and knew the layout of the park would not help with what to do next. just kept saying... i dont care, whatever you guys want to do! UGH!! LOL. this was the first time in the parks and we had no idea what to do! make a plan and then just let him be along for the ride
