Would you pose NUDE?

Posing for artists is different from what usually springs to mind.

I went to art school. We had models in all shapes and sizes. Some were young, some were older. Trust me, you're not looking at them the way that you look at a centerfold. You're learning how to draw the human form, nothing more. In art school, it's just another class. My DD is studying art in college and I have no problem with life models.

Occassionally, the model was a bit of an exhibitionist. I can tell you some stories, but I'll leave it at that. :teeth:

I was an art major also and I agree that there are all kinds of models and it's true that students don't look at them like they're a centerfold. In fact there was this one really old wrinkly guy who modeled a lot...I thought he had a lot of guts to get up there in front of everyone!

I also had a model in one class that was sort of an exhibitionist as well...he had many piercings on his body and he never put on his robe during the breaks; he just sort of strutted around and talked to the girls.

One time we had a model who was doing it for the first time and was nervous. There happened to be a hole in the ceiling and there were roof workers that apparently kept looking down at her. The teacher had to go reprimand them and put a cover on the ceiling...Ugh, that really freaked me out and I felt so bad for her...

As for the question, no, I personally would never pose nude.

Another art student checking in! And I have a few stories to tell too, maybe one day when we're all offline at some non-family DIS Meet. :) Preferably where there are cocktails being served. :p

(and nope, I would not pose nude. Maybe 20 years ago, not today, airbrush or not..... :) )

dvcreg and laurajetter have this right, when i was 18 a friend of mine asked me if i would model for her class.
being 18, I though woo-hoo party, well not exactly. after i was there about 5 minutes i realized i was no more
interesting to them than a bowl of fruit, a humbling experience that every 18 year old male should have

Another student of the arts checking in! I have taken a lot of art classes where we have had nude models. Yes, everyone is supposed to act mature, and just sketch your interpretation of the person.

It was all the rage when I was in college for students to earn money as nude or semi-nude dancers. Imagine that, med-student by day and dancer by night! ;) :earseek:

No way!!

I don't even want to see myself nude. That's why my mirrors are draped in black..just in case I would catch a glimpse ;)

for an art class, maybe, for porn, nope. yes, there is a difference. most likely I wouldn't even for the art class, not out of modesty, but because I can't sit for that long :)

I was an art history major in college and needed to take art one semester. we had a wide range of bodies that modeled for us, not everyone was thin, in shape, etc. It made it very interesting, actually.

I have no moral objection to posing nude. I doubt anyone would want to see my wrinkly slightly flabby 40 yr old body but if someone wanted to pay me well for it, Ok. There's nothing shameful about the human form.

I let DH photograph me nude the night before I had each of my first 2 kids (one was 11lbs and one was 10). I was arranged to not show the "private parts" but I sure looked like a freak of nature! It makes me laugh to think of the kids stumbling upon those photographs when I'm gone!

I know lots of people that have taken nude pics of the progression of a pregnancy

If it is done in a "classy" way, there is nothing to be ashamed of.

I agree. I would seriously think about it and any consequences before agreeing and if I didn't have a good gut feeling about it I wouldn't for do it for any amount of money.

I was actually asked to pose for an art class 15 years ago, and again about 5 years ago.

I declined politely both times. However, if it was used in a "teaching" perspective, I would do it.

HMMM...me, a tasteful setting...my GW stratigically placed....oh wait!...Can I have like a supermodel body?? If so, then "HECK YEAH"!

Yes I would pose nude as long as it's tasteful and classy. I think naked is beautiful.
