No way! I like towel animals but, for me, part of the fun is the element of surprise :). If I knew I was getting one it wouldn't be as much fun. Besides I can think of other things I'd rather spend my money on.

Heck no! Considering we stay about 10 nights, that would be $200 extra for towel animals!

Let it be pixie dust! Stop expecting these things and set realistic expectations. If people keep complaining because they don't get towel animals Disney is likely to say "forget it".

Leaving a nice tip for the maids the first morning MAY increase your chances of getting a towel animal. I know on cruises every time we leave a small tip on a towel animal, the next day we get an even bigger and better towel animal.

As for the poll, I would not pay extra to get them but don't mind giving a small gratuity for a surprise one.

We had a towel animal every day of our last stay.

I don't tip housekeeping.

They are fun and cute, but I would spend my $ on souvenirs I could take home.

YES I would pay $20/night for towel animals! - said NO ONE EVER...

I'd rather they spent the time cleaning the rooms instead of making towel animals. Plus it's a waste of good towels. Especially when people think they are a gift from the housekeeper who used good Disney property to make them.

Heck no! And I think the towel animals are just a little bit of magic- expecting them or paying for them ruins it. The point is to be surprised when you get them.

Most of the small ones are made with ok washcloths or cheapie washcloths. We were waiting for beignets once and the girls were making scads of them out of the old cloths so it wasn't taking housekeepers time or expensive cloths.

Fun poll!

Towel animals are pretty low on the totem pole for us. In fact, on our last cruise we told our cabin steward not to bother with them at all. Yes, they are amusing for the first two minutes. After that they just get in the way until they get used to dry off after a shower.

I forgot to answer. No, I would not pay extra. I have had one awesome towel man, which had to be disassemble to dry off, and a bunch of he little standard villa birds and mice and butterflies. Nothing worth writing home about.

No way. I would rather the housekeepers spend their time doing their job, cleaning the room. Don't get me wrong, I like them when we get them, but if housekeeping is too busy to make them I understand. And I would rather not have to pay more for my vacation so that Disney can hire more housekeepers so that they can all spend time making animals out of washcloths and bath towels.

I don't get why people are so obsessed with them, to be quite frank. And I really don't like that all the special things Disney used to do to be nice are now becoming demanded. Makes them not special.

Are people really "demanding" towel animals? First I've heard.

They are a fun surprise when we get them, but I certainly wouldn't pay extra for them!

I was also under the impression that they are made from stained or otherwise unusable towels.
