Would you do it?

Hi

I am considering booking via Danish site which has the free dining offer. I've read that people have booked via sites of their own language i.e. Uk booking on Irish site, Americans/Canadians booking on UK site but has anyone booked in a different language? Presumably the emailed confirmation would be in the language booked in?

I am desperate to book but just a bit scared in case it all goes wrong :scared1:

Any experiences/thoughts very welcome.

When I booked through the French site for Buffalo Bills show, everything was in French so I used google translate for both the site and confirmation emails. But at DLRP they did not mind us being English and accepted it. But it may be different for the actual tickets/hotel etc.

Thanks for your reply. Did the person who checked your reservation details not query it at all?

I'm wondering what would happen at check in when I went to an English speaking CM and presented him/her with page of Danish text! I guess the content of the confirmation letter is the same but just wondered if it would be a problem.

I called the UK booking number earlierand they said I would need a Danish address. I guess it isn't inconceivable to have an English speaking person in a different country who doesn't speak the native language, maybe through work or OH work.

I think my sister maybe has a Danish friend who I could possibly use her address, I wonder if I could book via phone with this address and ask for the confirmation to be sent in English?

Seems a bit deceitful though?:confused3 The free dining saved us a fortune last year and I'm not sure if I'd book without it.

Well for Buffalo Bills they just asked us if we were English we were a bit hesident but they said it was OK and gave us our instructions. But then that was just a show - they might be more strict with park tickets and hotel. But if you look at it, at the moment you can get the 30% offer which will equal about the same as the free dining option. So it works out the same just for different things.

Thanks for the information. There is £308 difference between the Danish price with free food and UK price with 30% off. The Danish price would work out better for us since we were almost £100 for a meal in Cafe Mickey last year. Oh, what to do :confused3 !

personally i would have done it (had i not already booked!) but a bit like you, i might have been a bit worried. But why would they have a problem with it? you're not doing anything wrong, its like booking with a different travel agent to get a better price. They are still getting money from you :)

Clare I would do it - having looked at the deal on the Danish site, the kroner to sterling rate looks like it was set at a favourable time - ie I worked out recently that my package at full price would be around £397 and if it included free meals it would be worth amending the booking for us. On the Danish site, including the free meals deal, it works out at £367 - so even cheaper!

Thanks for the replies. I just don't know what to do. If it was in the same language I'd have no hesitation. Do you think they would pay much attention to the postal address because I don't have access to a Danish address after all? I see the booking page where you enter your details pre-populates the country to that which country's page you are on. I could put a Danish hotel address in I suppose?

Oh, what am I going to do, lol?? I really want to book it, especially as the flight prices are quite good at the moment with Easyjet having a sale on. What's the worst that can happen? They can refuse to give me the food vouchers which would presumably be enclosed in the check in envelope they give you? Hopefully they would just want to get moving to check the next person in! Besides, I could work in Denmark and not speak the language, right?!

I wonder if I should call again and say I live in Denmark, be ready with a Danish hotel address, but don't speak the language? Might give that I go but it feels a bit wrong :sad1:!

IT'S BOOKED!!!!:yay:

I phoned and explained that I'd seen the offer and preferred this to the UK's 30%. The first person wasn't very keen and transferred me to someone else. The next person was lovely and said that they can't refuse an offer someone has seen just because they don't speak the language. She said it helps if you have access to an address in the country as it makes it easier but its not necessary.

She is going to send me the confirmation in English and said there will be no problem at check in. I paid £276 more than the UK site but I know we'd spend a lot more than that on food over 5 nights so I'm very pleased!!

AND she didn't need a deposit as the Danish site doesn't require this, just has to be paid at the beginning of May!!

Thanks for the comments that gave me the courage to phone in the first place. I hope this helps someone else who might be in the same position.

wow that's brilliant - also opens a whole new set of options for us poor Irish! Our prices are way more expensive even taking the sterling euro difference into account!

Have a brilliant time!

That's brilliant, had we not already booked i would definately have done it to include food - its so expensive to eat over there! Have a wonderful time :)

Excellent, well done!

Do you have the telephone booking number?

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your good wishes :goodvibes I received my confirmation email this morning :yay:

Mark, I just phoned the number from the website 0844 8 008 898. The first person I spoke to wasn't sure if I could do it so she transferred me to someone else who dealt with it brilliantly, lol!

Now to book our first night hotel and get planning..!

thats brilliant and a really great offer.

dont think it worked out as well in euros though :sad1:
