would you bring your high end stroller?

have you thought about getting one of those stroller frames that a baby carrier snaps into? My youngest slept a lot in her baby carrier until she was about 9 months so I would think it would be easier to just take out the baby carrier and carry the baby in that onto the bus. Just a thought :goodvibes

I've been debating this too. We have a Phil and Ted with the doubles kit, which I like because we can attach the jump seat to the front seat, but it is heavy. I'm looking into getting a sit and stand to bring with us.

Let's see...

We've brought our: Eddie Bauer ($400.00), Mac Triumph ($200.00), Peg Pliko ($400.00) and Mac Techno XLR ($400.00) stollers. I only put the prices there as we are Canadian, so replacing these strollers costs us more as they are more money here. The past 6 trips, we've had the Pliko and Mac Techno in the parks at the same time.

We have never had issues, but I can see how people might be worried.

Good luck, Tiger

The last couple of times I took our Contours Options Stroller, not high end, but not $40 either. I have never had an issue. The last two times we were only at MK for the day so I needed somewhere for him to nap and having a stroller that lays back is so wonderful, plus the storage underneath. I love my Options because he rides so much better with the seat turned around toward me while I push than when he can't see me. We also took a cheap umbrella style stroller for my 4 year old. The size of the stroller doesn't bother me. And most people don't know by looking at a stroller how much it cost, at least I don't and who pays $80+ to steal strollers?? :confused3

We have a $600 Chariot double. We've brought it on every Disney trip since we bought it 6 years ago. It's awesome in the park! And it's usually the only one, so it's easy to find. ;) I've never had anything stolen at DL or WDW, so I have absolutely no problem bringing it with us.

I also figure most people don't know how to collapse a random stroller. They're not going to get far with my baby jogger if they don't know how it folds.

As far as locks go, does Disney mind if people use them? They often have to move strollers around to make better use of space, no matter how well your individual stroller might be parked.

You can't lock or attach a stroller to a handrail or pole, but you can put on a wheel lock, as this will still allow the CMs to move strollers around as necessary.

We've been using wheel locks for years, and no problems! Tiger :)

From what I've read, you are allowed to lock the wheels of your stroller together but you can't lock it to something else, like a railing or whatever. Apparently, the CM's are constantly rearranging the strollers and if yours is locked and attached to something, they will cut the lock. I'm still debating whether to get a cable lock for mine, seems like an extra aggravation.

You don't need to know how to fold a stroller to walk off with it. You can always figure it out later.

I have a high end stroller and there is NO WAY I would EVER bring it to Disney, I love it too much! It's not just about the possibility of someone stealing it, but also the possibility that it could get damaged in the parks. We are happily renting a stroller from Magic Stroller Rental.

Not sure when your going but I remember many times leaving the stroller, going into a ride, coming out and a passing thunderstorm had soaked the park and the stroller. Glad those days are over!!

I have the Valco trimode twin and I couldn't bear NOT to bring it. It is so comfortable for my kids and they are familiar with it, as I am. I can fold it up and get it moving pretty quickly. It is heavier but for the amount of times you have to deal with it being folded vs. the amount of time we actually are using it in the park I can't imagine otherwise. I am a stroller junkie and it took a lot of strollers to finally find one I'm happy with. I'm not willing to "downgrade" to a smaller version for a place that I am going to be stroller dependent on for a majority of my trip.

Just thought I'd give an update as we're back from our trip now! I am *so* glad we brought our Baby Jogger City Classic Double. There were so many baby joggers in the parks, no one gave us dirty looks or anything and it was very comfortable for the kids. We got the official bag for it and it came through the flight and time in the parks none the worse for wear (apart from a bit of bird poop, lol).

One warning - some bus drivers want you to get on via the rear doors and some the front. After being told to enter via the rear many times my dad got on a bus that way and had the driver leap out of his seat and start aggressively yelling at him for breaking federal law, ignoring the sign, etc etc in front of my 3 year old daughter. Very very bad experience. You can bet we're going to let Disney know, but just be warned not to get on that way unless the driver tells you too.

I was discussing our trip with my mom the other day and mentioned looking for a stroller to bring with us. She was shocked I wasn't bringing our regular stroller. I don't feel comfortable bringing my UPPAbaby Vista. First, it is too expensive to risk it being stolen. Second, it's bug and heavy! I planned on buying a G Luxe for our trip. Does anyone bring their high end stroller to the World?
i had to google that since I had no idea what that stroller was! Wow. I wouldnt wanna bring it either! Thats one expensive stroller. I'm gonna head back and drool for a few more minutes.

I figure I bought my UppaBaby to use it and I plan on bringing it. I think stroller theft is rare enough that I'm not going to worry about that, especially since I do plan on using a lock for peace of mind. My only concern is bringing it on the buses, but really, it isn't that much bigger than most of the strollers that people bring on the buses. I also think that with how the rain cover zips in to the stroller (instead of draping), that it's a lot less likely to get stolen. I am getting the travel bag for flights, so I have no concerns there (at least while it's under warranty).

Sure would. I think the chance of it being stolen is extremely slight, I've never had my stroller damaged by my airline, and if I pay $700 for a stroller I'm sure not going to rent one anywhere!

I just had my $700 stroller damaged two weekends ago by the airlines. It was in the stroller bag made by the same company as the stroller... Thank you United Airlines! This is EXACTLY why we will be renting one in Disney World.

Out of curioursity because I had never thought of this before... I just assumed everyone brought th ere stroller... do you use your stroller $700 worth just around town? I don't feel like I use it enough around town to justify it. I mean my Mcclaren would do at the mall or on walks.

One of my favorite places for my stroller is on long trips whether it's Disney, zoos, Hawaii... I always felt that was one of the perks of a high end stroller.... you had a nice one to use. What's the point of having one if you don't use it?

I don't know what stroller you have, but if you have an uppababy and purchase the travel bag from them, if damaged by the airline, UppaBaby will replace it.

I wouldn't take a big bulky stroller. Especially if you are staying on property and taking Disney buses. You'll want something that is super easy to fold up and carry onto the bus.

That being said, how old will your little one be when you go on the trip? You should look into the Graco Ipo stroller. It's a great stroller and you can get it for right around $100. We have one for our son...used it on our trip in 2008 when he was 14 months old. And we still use it for mall trips, zoo trips, museum trips, or trips to the park. DS still fits great in it and loves it. :)

Good luck!
