Would love some CP advice

We would like to go to any of the Candlelight performances on the day after Thanksgiving, Nov 26. We currently have ressies at Chefs de France at 5pm, for 4 adults/4 children, and we are on the DDP. So, with regular dinner, it's 8 credits used, but if we switch over and book the CP, then we will be using 16 credits
So, my question...How likely would we be able to see the performance if we ate at 5pm and then waited in the stand-by line? My original plan was to book the CP using 2 DDP credits, and just pay out of pocket for another meal. But 16 credits is a lot to use just to have a shorter line! And how busy will that day be, since it's the first night?

From reading the "Candlelight Processional Package Watching & Waiting" thread (yes, I've read ALL of it) I know that there are a lot of people whose only possible date for the CP is the 26th. That is the first date it will be performed, and if that is the one week of your vacation it becomes your only possibility. For that reason I'm guessing that there will be few seats, if any, available for persons in the stand-by line.

Generally speaking, it is easier to get into the theater from the stand-by line for the first show (5:00 pm last year) than for the second or third show. You might want to consider seeing if you can book a regular ADR for 6:00 pm or later (depending on how close to the America Theater you can book) to eat dinner after trying to get into the CP. Either that, or "bite the bullet" and use the 16 credits for the package.

Thanks, that was exactly what I needed I think I will bite the bullet and book the CP, then we would definitely get a seat and not spend extra time waiting.
