Would like to see a Pirates of the Caribbean Themed restaurant

POTC themed restaurant is an excellent idea. I have no doubt it would be very popular. Especially if it was a character one. pirate:

I love the Paris one. I believe it is called Blue Lagoon. The flaming creme brulee was great...If I remember correctly Blue Bayou isn't really pirate themed.

Okay, maybe a character breakfast. I don't get up early enough for breakfast.

Blue Lagoon is correct - you can see the boats from POTC from the restaurant (similar to San Angel Inn in WDW and the Rio del Tiempo boats)

On Halloween night this year, Jack Sparrow was sitting by the banks of the ride outside Blue Lagoon and you could see Smee and Captain Hook signing autographs in the restaurant itself. Although this restaurant isn't usually character, it was very cool that night.

We'd love it too. We have 3 DS and 1 DD. The boys have to sit through CRT, there should be some payback from DD. I'd be happy with pictures of Captain Jack to look at!

I'll have the 10 rum sampler matey! pirate:

Cool idea. :thumbsup2

OK what's that WDW customer service email address for sending suggestions?

Well now that we feel WDW is missing the boat by not having a themed POTC restaurant maybe we should flood the email server with emails to build it.

With everyone writing about how great the one in Paris is what are they waiting for.

Pssst.... dmiller, they heard you! ;)

(well, not really, but Europa Park - the Germany Bizarro WDW - is opening a pirates themed restaurant inside their ride 'Pirates of Batavia' later this year!)

I think that is a great idea! I'd also like to see a Beauty and Beast themed restaurant... something along the lines of the song "Be our Guest" with Luminere and other characters off the beaten path!

Yes I know but I would like to have one at WDW FL

I think that would be great....so many princess meals, you know. Not that I am against princess meals, but I think Disney is miising the boat. Just the other day I was thinking about how there are not any restaurants in Adventurland...how perfect, it would open the market for both girls and boys. I think it would be great!

That sounds great! I'm not sure about it being a character meal as I'm sure those costumes would be mega hard to make, but I'd love a POTC themed restaurant. It wouldn't be so hard I think, especially for the profit it'd make. I'm sure it'd be HUGELY popular.

And expensive? What? Throw some shiny things around, have the waiters dress up, and there ya go. Tortuga! ;)

Good old reliable Jim Hill (I joke by the way) Has an article on his site this week about the very idea. Apparently Disney have looked into a Pirate themed place, Jack Sparrow and all. However at the time it was pitched and then I think I little develpomnet went on, the Disney folk begin to wonder if the Pirate thing was getting a little stale, actually it was more not so profitable. Take this all with a grain of salt, please, before all you Jim Hill fans (I am joking again here) take issue with the accuracy of my info!!!;)

Let's hope one of you is working on the idea for the next JH article!!

The idea of a pirate themed dining would be awesome. I think it would be a huge hit. Now that they have axed Pleasure Island, and want to generate more restaurant ideas, here is something you should look at Disney!

:thumbsup2

As a mother of 2 boys and a POTC lover myself, I think it's a great idea and I would want to make ADRs there as our in-park meal. Even if it wasn't a character meal, there is so much Disney could do with the theme, decor, costumes for staff.

Even more than the closing of PI, I hoping this is what they are thinking about since they are taking away the characters at Liberty Tree Tavern!pirate:

Yeah, and especially since they are also getting rid of Garden Grill lunch and the characters at Liberty tree tavern too!

Haven't read this thread, but if you want PotC themed dining just go to Disneyland Paris. They have it there. :) :cool1:

It WAS really cool too! It was a little like the dining at the Mexico ride in WS. You could wave to the boats going by and hear the music. The food was mostly seafood, with tropical items like mango salsa. It was pretty good.

I should add that Paris also had Mickey shaped pizza inthe kids' meals. I don't understand why WDW can't do more cute food like that for the kids.

One with Capt. Jack Sparrow would get my vote!!! I think they would make gobs of money, so I don't know why they wouldn't...

I agree would be a good idea. Don't know how the character dining would be, but think a villians theme one would be great!
