Would Like Some Feedback on My Medical Matter

I have suspected since the first week of coughing that it might be whooping cough. The last two coughing fits caused me to "whoop."

From what I was told, getting an antibiotic is very important to prevent passing it on to others. Otherwise, there is no treatment. It's also not typically diagnosed properly.

As for the post nasal - My Dr. said that it takes a combination of antihistimine & decongestant: Claritin D, (or the Claritin & Sudafed like you're taking). Before, I had only tried one or the other, and it never worked well. The Claritin D did seem to help.

Hope you feel better soon!!

Just to add my 2cents worth. We get this here in San Antonio all the time - allergy related. My family responds well to anything with guaf. in it. That seems to help with the drainage. Also, Sudafed has a "Non-drying" formula - I think it's with guaf. and I love that product. It's specifically for drainage.

This won't make you feel any better, but in our family, the cough lingers for weeks. Even after all other symptoms have essentially cleared up, the nagging/annoying cough is still there. My son had it at least a month.

One last thing - somewhere I read that caffeine aggravates sinus problems. So when I get this crap, I stay away from sodas and coffee.

Good luck.
