Could you do it anyway???? :)

I have to get a rough plan down before the 14th for ADR's. I am totally obsessing over this, so if anyone would like to give me some suggestions they would be MOST appreciated!

September 10-16

Sunday 1oth- arrive (we are driving, so not quite sure as to the time...hopefully 11ish in the morning) stow bags, MK for EMH evening hours

Monday 11th- AK EMH morning hours. Stay til 2 or 3. Hop to MGM for EMH evening hours Dinner at Sci-Fi.

Tuesday 12th- Epcot EMH hours- stay all day. Dinner at LeCellier.

Wednesday 13th- MGM morning (for anything we may have missed) MK in evening. Dinner at Crystal Palace.

Thursday 14th- MK EMH morning stay all day. Dinner at Chef Mickey's

Friday 15th- MK Cindy's breakfast (if we can get it!) stay most of morning. Use afternoon to do AK/EP/MGM.

What do you think?? We don't know if EMH evening hours will be a nightmare or not.

Also, we'd like to work in some time at Downtown Disney for Rainforest Cafe and souvenirs. Do you see where we could put this??

THANKS A BUNCH!!

My only suggestion is to make your Castle breakfast ressie first. Start trying to get it for the first morning you will be there until you actually get it booked. You will be lucky to get a ressie so if you wait until your 60 days out and try just for the one day you may miss out altogether. If you get it for multiple days then cancel the ones you don't want and keep the one you planned on in your itinerary. If you can't get the day you WANT but get another day, just adjust your all your other ADR's and itinerary accordingly. Good luck on Cindy's royal table ressies!

My first thought is to be willing to back off if the kids are tiring out. It looks like fun but long days for the kids.

My kids like to hit the pool at the resort to relax a bit and you will find DD can be a bit of a break as well.

Have a great trip!

I would be concerned about staying late at EMH and trying to get the whole family up early for morning EMH the next day. My kids would not be too happy about this.

I had two initial reactions.....

1. It's going to be tough for you to make an EMH morning after staying for an EMH evening.
2. If you don't take an afternoon break, your days are going to be way too long.

I don't know what EMH hours are like in September, but I do know you'll be going at one of the slower times of year, so that should help.

EDIT: Guess I was thinking like shellibelle :) You must have posted right before me.

Thanks for the advice! You are probably right that this is a bit too intense. I just want to do as much as possible, since we may not get back for a while!

And the suggestion about Cindy's table makes perfect sense! I guess I was thinking that I had to make all of the ADR's at the same time and therefore had to have everything planned out this early! I will do Cindy's first and then go from there!

Thanks again for being the clear thinkers here!

I just got back from a week at Disney during Presidents week. The crowds during Sept vs Presidents week are really different. However, we noticed that the parks were more crowded on a EMH day then they were on non-EMH days. We went to Epcot on Friday morning ( an EMH evening )and the fast passes for soaring at 11:00 am were showing a return time for 3:30. We went back to Epcot on Saturday and the fast passes for soaring at 10:30 were only for 11:30. THe crowds were considerably lighter on Saturday even in the afternoon.

We also went to MGM on Friday evening - no EMH, but the EMH for MGM was Saturday( morning) . The RNR fast pass at 5:00 was for a return time of 5:50 and the wait time at 5:15 for the TOT was only 30 minutes. We also entered fantasmic at 7:20 for the 7:30 show and had seats, although we just got them.

Also, I agree with the other poster that you will need downtime. We had to cancel some of our ADR's because the kids wouldn't wake up from there nap. And September can be really hot, you may want to schedule a water park day too. We also found out that as long as you have ADRs you can be a little late... we did have to wait an extra 20 minutes at the chrystal palace for our reservation but it was nice not to have to rush.

If you are going to do the EMH day at the parks I would do the morning hour and then hop over to another park (preferably the park that just had a EMH the day before. ) Have Fun!!

btw, The rainforest cafe is also just outside the gate at AK- they have 2 locations.

The crowds are typically small during this time period.

My only suggestion is that you don't visit a park that has EMH's unless you are taking advantage of EMH in that park that day. I agree with some of the other posters; too many late nights and early mornings can take it's toll.

If folks in your family are getting tired, it can be worthwhile to take an early afternoon break back at the resort and get some naps or rest. If the parks are crowded (probably not in mid-September), there is not a lot that can be accomplished in the parks in the middle of the day, so there is not a lot of valuable time lost when resting back at the hotel.
