Worth the extra for view at DL Hotel?

My husband is dead set on concierge level. So, for the days we're going, the PP is available in their standard view concierge. The DL concierge is either DD Resort View or Neverland Pool view concierge. I know the view would be better at the DL Hotel but we really don't care so much about the view

Comparing the two hotels, the price is $144 per night more at the Disneyland Hotel than Paradise Pier. It seems their concierge service is about the same. The DL concierge is open later but only for viewing fireworks -their service stops at the same time.

So, it seems like what we're paying for is the view.

Am I missing something?

Well, there's the convenience of the DLH hotel to the monorail, but even that has been hit or miss with the whole Monorail Red fiasco.

Knowing that you may have a chance of being upgraded to a view room at the PPH (which is darn impressive, and much better than the pool view at the DLH), I would stay there and save your money for something special in the parks.

WOW I HAVE AN OPINION HERE!! This is so rare for me to have stayed at each place mentioned. Okay, DLH holds alot of the magic, I agree. But for view I would go for DLH and now that the tower names have changed I am not sure of the tower that faces DTD and the Compass Bookstore. That area on the DTD end is great for a view. We had Grandma with us on that trip, and she loved hearing the music and watching everyone dance, and of course the occasional bird that would greet her. And when you shut the sliders the noise and birds were gone, amazing. Good choice!:tink:

Re: downtown Disney view. My dd is noise sensitive and it was way too noisy for her. I think we were on the 6th floor and we needed to change to pool view because she was crying from the noise (even with the sliders shut).

Hopefully you found a better concierge rate than I did. I got the same room (upper level DTD view) at DLH without concierge and looked into upgrading it. Yowza!!! The cost went from $274 to $446 per night (before tax), which is ludicrous. We could never use enough services to justify that expense. I would stay in the nicest room in whichever hotel you prefer and skip concierge. Try room service! If you found a good concierge rate, though, let me know!

That used to be the Sierra Tower, and is now named the Dreams Tower. :)
