On our last trip we got caught on quite a few rides that went temporairly down. Not where they were just letting a wheelchair person on either. We seen maintence personnel while waiting. The worst was probably Spaceship Earth, we were backwards, and the ride was stopped for close to 20-25 minutes. It really smelled. I was not happy to say the least. The same trip we got stopped in the Haunted Mansion for close to 15 minutes in front of the glass ball, w/ the speaking head. It was kind of cool to be stopped here, got to see more details then usual.

I think the worst would be to get stuck in IASW!!!!

Ours was Kongfrontation at Universal, About 10 years ago, I have to say I hate anything they I feel like I am suspended, Like that cable car, It was me DD 5 friend and her DS 5, As we came around the corner where he grabs the car, It made a loud squealing sound, then a thud. I turned to my friend and said it just broke! Of course she said you idiot its supposed to do that cause he is supposed to be pulling us off the cable line. I say Ahh no, its a mechanical issue, sure enough the lights go on, and the driver cmember whatever, says we have to sit still and not rock the car, he has to crank us down by hand, Oh ok, what fun, I was freaking out. We get back to the Queing area and they say, Its allset we are going to go for it again, the whole tram sits there says nothing, I say excuse me, I would like to get off and not go again. He opened the doors and I took my child and got off, And then ........everyone else, save for 2 teens in the front row, and my friend and her son got off the tram and followed me out.

While we have been fortunate enough to have avoided being trapped in the middle of a maintence emergency, my co-worker was not so fortunate.

Liz and her hubby were on TT and it stopped with them and a family with a lady and two little kids on the outer loop just above the walkway into the que. They were having to brace themselves to keep from hanging out of the car. They were tilted to the side for over 30 minutes out there before they were freed. Mickey

Got stuck on the final incline on Splash Mountain just before the top of the hill. It was about 20 minutes, but I think I heard those buzzards say "Looks like Brer Bear and Brer Fox are causin' some mischief downstream" about 50 times. It wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't terrible either.

This happened at DL on POTC, they loaded me and my wife (pooh sized folks) and my brother (stick) into the front, and then 4 pooh sized people in the row behind us and sent us on our merry way. We got to the first drop below the talking skull and we got hung up, I saw it coming when the boat seemed to be leaning to the front. They sent a couple other boats to try and dislodge us, no good. Lights came on and a cast member came over, helped us all out by grabbing our arms and pulling us. I was thinking, sure buddy for the ladies, but come on, I'm a big strong guy. Anyway, they took us down a back hall with the cm's back there giving us the eye like we were outcasts. Surely we were doomed to be banned from POTC, but alas, they took us through the exit, directly to a waiting boat where a CM took charge and placed us around the boat. My brother in front, me and my wife in back, and the other 4 people spaced out in the middle. We set off again and were able to make it down!

That was two years ago, and it took that long to forget what that skull said.
It was fun :)

Another DL story, my dad and I saw the people mover broke down (as usual) and they had to walk people down the tracks over the sidewalk, it was cool, I wish I had a picture :)

We got stuck in COP in the same room for three times. It's a Great Big beautiful tomorrow:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We've been stuck many times on rides in WDW. The worst had to be on Test Track. We were stopped in the "freeze" room, where normally there's a cool mist to make you feel frigid before you move into the extreme heat room. The mister aimed directly at my head! Since we were stopped in one place for so long, the mister continued to spray away! I was more wet than what I would've been on Splash Mountain!:D Hoping that they monitored via video cameras, we kept yelling until the thing was shut off!

my daughter and I got stuck on Buzz lightyear for about 5 to 10 minutes but we really didn;t care - we used the time to rack up a ridiculous amount of points -

I did have a terrifying ride experience at the New Mexico State Fair though - my little girl was riding a kids roller coaster... a mild one like Goofy's rollercoaster - well my little girl was laughing and loving it... when the front wheel carriage underneath the first car came lose and fell of...so the wheels went forward while the cars came to a instant halt... my little girl at the time being 3 thought this was part of the ride and started laughing...do that again!! I was mortified - the carnies literally had to climb up on the structure and carry the kids back down to frantic parents below.

this last trip to disney world - my daughter's second trip flying - we hit a huge deep air pocket - I've been in some pretty scary plane situations but this had to rank in the top three... I don't know how far the plane dropped but it was far enough that things floated off our tables and smacked back down... I have often in my 40 years and I have had that happen before but not like this - it was a long drop - people were looking at eachother across the aisles. You could see and feel the tension in the plane. Then my daughter not knowing this was unusual said quite loud so many people could hear "do that again!!! do that again!!" she thought it was great

On my last trip (a couple of weeks ago) we got stuck in the first room of Carousel of Progress. After hearing the introduction for the fourth time they opened the doors and put us all out.
It was really funny, someone started a Mexican wave.

A friend of mine in college got stuck in Small World for 45 minutes... with music playing the whole time. Every time you played or sung part of that song, Grant would give you "the look" and start scanning the room for sharp objects!

I've gotten stuck in IASW.. in the white area near the end... It wasn't too bad.

My DH and DS got stuck in the cold area on Test Track.. it was my then four year old sons first ride ever on it..

Finally got DD at age 5 to go on HM - and when we got to the part were the talking head is talking to the "spirits" in the crystal ball the ride stopped! and we sat in the dark of the HM for 20 long minutes with a scared 5y/o when they turned up the lights and she saw the instruments hanging with string - and she said so seriously "Mom this is make believe!" and smiled like she had conquered a large monster!

this didn't happen to me but we were waiting in line for the next car on btmrr and it got stuck outside in a monsoon the people were stuck for ten minutes and were soaked and not happy.

At Blizzard Beach the ski lift was full of people when it stopped. It was stopped at least 1 hour, maybe more, I had to leave. The CM's were tossing bottled water to the poor souls caught up there in the blazing sun. I was happy to be just an observer.

I've got two examples of my own. First, my wife and I also got stuck on Test Track on the loop right over the entrance. While we were hanging there bracing against the side of the car, the CM below waved at us. Ha Ha. Thankfully, we started up again after about a minute.

Another time, we got stuck on Journey Into Imagination With Figment. For about 15 mintues, we were stuck in the Smell Lab. It was about 10 mintues in when they finally shut off the smell blower. Needless to say, the smell of Skunk Figment stayed in our noses for the rest of the day.

I would have completely FREAKED OUT if I got stuck up there. I really hate the ski lift to begin with, I have to work real hard to avoid a panic attack on it. I think I'll stick to walking up after hearing this one!;)

My DH and i went last year and in one trip we got stuck on:

Haunted Mansion (really cool, right at the ballroom)
spaceship Earth
Pirates of the Caribbean (twice)
Buzz Lightyear (best score ever )
Test Track

We didn't really mind and used the time to get great pictures. Luckily we were never stuck for more than 10 minutes!

The WORST thing that ever happened in being stuck on a ride was at Disneyland when we were all on Small World. It was at the end and the boats were lining up waiting for their passengers to disembark. As a boat came up behind us it started to push our boat into the one in front of us.. normally the boats just bump the one in front and nothing happens, but for some reason the boat behind us just kept pushing until it forced the boat in front of us (that was empty and therefore lighter) up onto the front of our boat and our boat just started sliding right under it. As the boats kept moving together and the one in front began moving across our hood straight towards us (we were in the front row) I began to look for a way to jump out of the boat. Suddenly everything stopped moving as the boats further up the line moved on and the boat in front slipped of ours.

It really didn't hit me until we off and safe that I realized it could have been really really bad. We had our 1 year old in our lap at the time too. We told the CM as we got off what happened but she didn't seemed overly concerned.

DW and I have been stuck on Space Mountain at Disneyland twice. One time we both injured when the "car" we were in did one of those emergency stops... got a nasty case of whiplash. Went to the first aid station and got some asprin, a bag of ice and cold looks from the nurse. In both instances it was neat to see the mountain with lights on and walk thru the guts of the place.

I've also gotten stuck on POTC in DL. I spent 40 minutes in the burning city room before they turned off the sound track. At least there is cell phone reception (for some odd reason) down there in that one room in that ride. The cm's were very nice and gave us passes to other rides cuz of the delay. This of course was years ago.

Also got stuck near the top of the (DL) Splash drop... got to go behind the scenes and walk off. How weird to see that whole tunnel is actually outdoors with nuthin around it... just a thin shell.

Never a problem at WDW. Guess they maintain their rides better than the folks in Anaheim.
