WORST place you've gotten stuck on a ride!

Oh boy:

1). Got stuck on the first lift section of Spaceship Earth, right after you load. This was before they added all of the neon lights in that section, and it was quite steep. About half way up the hill, we hear a child screaming from below that keeps going for 10 seconds, and a mother screaming to stop the ride. Apparently a child was screwing around and had fallen out of the car, and got his arm pinned in the machinery. We were evacuated about a half hour later, but it was pretty disturbing. We heard on the news the next day that after hours and hours of surgery they managed to save his arm, but man it sounded bad there for a bit.

2). TTA, back when it was still the peoplemover. We were just going for one last ride before moving on, but we had to wait about 20 minutes to get out. Not fun.

3). Test Track, part 1: in the weather chamber. We were stuck there about 10 minutes, directly underneath one of the freezing cold vents.

4). Test Track, part 2: Right before you start the acceleration in the "crash test," so we had absolutely no idea when we were going to go from 0-60.

5). Been stuck on the tower 4 or 5 times, which isn't bad for 125 rides. Most memorable was probably right before entering the drop shaft, lights came on, CM came out of the right-side door, and we were moving shortly after. Still disconcerting when the lights come on and you don't see the actual drop container waiting for you.

6). And of course, as everyone has, we've been stuck in a tremendously wet and frustrating part of Splash Mountain, which is never fun.

I won't even get into my Non-Disney ride stoppages. Suffice to say, I have really bad luck.

I have been stuck a few times on several different rides, but the worst was a few years ago on HM. We were stuck in the graveyard, right next to one of those skeletons that pops up from behind a tombstone and screams. Usually there is someone in the area that screams back (either genuinely afraid or just for kicks). After the first, oh, twenty times or so, the "reply" screams stopped. That's one of those things where you try to ignore it... you try to laugh at it... you try to make it entertaining... but after a while, no matter what you try, it gets annoying. I can still hear that scream!

We just got back yesterday and while in line for EE the ride stopped. We remained in line as people started coming down from the ride. There was a man waiting for his family to arrive, they came down the woman and her daughter said that they got stuck at the very top and had to climb down 14 stories...

My fam (DW & DD5) got stuck at the highest point of BTMRR at night. It was last October, the day hurricane Wilma blew through Orlando. The MK opened up at 1:30PM that day and was staying open until midnight. Well, this was the last ride of the evening and we got stuck at the top of lift hill 2. CMs came up to relax us while maintenance was dispatched.

The CMs came up with candy from MNSSHP from the night before and MK Fast Passes. They handed everyone in the train 4 Fast Passes each.

Maintenance showed up 30 minutes later (It Was COLD)! They tied the train down (Procedure) and got each of us out of the train. We walked down the steps from the lift hill and underneath the ride. I had never seen the mechanics of BTMRR, but it was pretty fascinating.

Once we got back to the ride queue, a Manager told all of us to stop at Town Hall on the way out of the park and pick-up a free one day park hopper admission ticket. We were extremely surprised at the generosity.

When we got to Town Hall the nice CM told us she knew nothing about this. She made a few calls and got all her facts straight. She went to the back and came out with several one-day Park Hopper tickets and more MK Fast Passes. She gave everyone their admission ticket and 3 or 4 more Fast Passes.

I still have all the Fast Passes 23 to be exact. I plan to use them on our upcoming trip at the end of March. We'll probably need them as the Spring Break crowds will be rather large and stand-by lines will be lengthy.

i'd love to see the workings OF btm.

and why keep the fast passes...they are useless!

but i'll admit. i collect them! they bring happy memories

We got stuck several times on Splash Mountain before eventually being evacuated. I was scared out of my mind. DH was sad because it's his favorite attraction and he knew after that ordeal, it would never be the same for me.....

We got stuck on the Buzz Lightyear Ride inside the tunnel that simulates you flying in space. UGH! I thought my DS 3 was going to jump off. He was so scared.

I would have to say the 30 minutes in COP stuck in between sets and having to hear that song over and over and over again.

We were stuck in teh "elements room" on Test Track--the one with the heat, Corrosion and wind. Not a fun place to be stuck!

We got stuck on Splash Mountain last October. We just set there singing the song over and over. Then the music was cut off by the mouths were still moving. Was led out of the ride around the back and ended up where you stop to look at the ride pictures. Were given fast past to ride any ride in the MK.

We have been stuck on about everything at some point in time. That seemed to be the trend for our trip last July. SplashM 2X, Spaceship Earth, TTA, BTMRR (going up hill, not fun). But the absolute worse, I still have nightmares about, was being enclosed in Mission Space for 40 mins! Everything went as normal until it got to the check list just before the countdown. It did it over and over. Finally, an announcement came that our mission was temporarily delayed while something-or-other was being refuled. I am VERY clasterphobic(sp?) but I usually can do okay because that ride is very short. I sat there with my eyes closed for a while and tried to stay calm- did not work! I was in the capsule with 3 children under 10: my DD9 and two other children I didn't know. I knew I had to stay calm for them but they were all fine sitting playing with all the buttons. My dh and 2 DS were in the capsule next to us. I started out saying "hello, hello", looking for a camera thinking someone had to be watching us--nothing. I then started to beat on the top and sides. It was like beating on cement. Finally I found one little place I could hit that made a noise (it had been 20 mins) and a CM came and opened the capsule. I bailed out. He told me they were ready to start it up if I wanted to get back in. I asked him like three times if he was sure and he indicated that they were holding it up for me now. My dd didn't want out so I agreed to get back in. I thought "I can do this!" It was ANOTHER 20 mins before they started it back! After the ride was finally over the kids next to us said that they could see the CMs cleaning up a "protein spill" in the capsule next to us when they had opened it to let me out the first time. Why couldn't they have done that before everyone got on and closed up???

We got stuck in spaceship earth for about 10 minutes right where Rome is burning down and it stunk.

Well I dont know about the WORST place ive been stuck, but it was really cool when we got stuck in the middle of buzz's spin, because i got so many points I reset the score board!!
P.S. When I tell that story, I dont mention the fact we got stuck :)

Ive also been stuck on POC, right in the middle of the shooting scene between the boats....that got annoying.

Never been stuck on the bigger rides, but I couldnt imagine getting stuck on the hill up to the top of everest!

last summer we were heading out of epcot and noticed the sign for space ship earth was 5 minutes. so we decided to go ahead and ride. so as soon as we load and start about 1/2 way up the incline we stop. all of a sudden the pre recorded message came on "please stay seated in the ride car, the ride will begin moving again momentairly" so we heard that over and over again for about 20 minutes and nothing happened. then eventually the actual ride person came on the intercom and said we would have to get off the ride and wait for some one to come and help. so they started at the top and worked there way down. now we were about 1/2 up the incline and my mom has a bad knee so it was hard for her to get out since we were on the incline. but all in all it turned out to be alright. haha nothing like that had ever happened before to us so my brothers and i were all excited and to this day our mom wont let us live it down cuz we suggested to go on the ride. lol :teeth:

heres a pic of my brother anthony and my mom about 3 minutes before we got stuck.

Many of those times you thought you were stuck you were actually stopped so that someone in a wheelchair could either load or unload from the ride. Take it from me I have 2 daughters in wheelchairs.

We were stuck on the land ride once a few years back. It was neat--for a bit--to just be hanging out in the boat, looking at the plants and such. But after the trivia, the jokes and general conversation, we were all beginning to wonder if we were trapped:)
I'd say after close to 45 minutes we were walked off of the boats and taken outside behind the land area through a cm parking lot. We got to see some ride parts here and there. Luckily no one was really angry and we were all able to laugh about it.

Well, I was about to say how lucky I was that we had never gotten stuck. But actually, I remembered we did get stuck on the Carousel of Progress. It was comical to hear that song 3 or 4 times. But I learned a lot - those historical facts were drilled into my brain. haha. It kept going after that and everything went fine.

You all have some scary stories! I can't imagine being stuck on a thrill ride. Once, on the TTA we saw the inside of Space Mountain all lit up and it was so interesting to see. I wish I could see RnR all lit up. :wizard:

The only time I can think of is getting stuck on Test Track. It was like basically right after we got on. We started going up a curve or whatever and we got stuck there. It wasn't for too long though. Maybe 5 minutes or so.

Man though. I can't imagine getting stuck on TOT. That would scare me so bad. Just thinking of that ride, I get scared. haha.

Years ago we got stuck on the monorail right before it looped through Epcot. We were there for over an hour and were afraid we'd miss Illuminations. When it FINALLY got to the station, CM's were handing out one-day passes to everyone. It was worth the hour wait! My kids just thought it was another thrill ride and the delay was part of the fun!
:sunny:

Yikes, you guys have some scarry stories!! I would totally freak out if I were on a rollercoaster and got stuck!! We have only gotten stuck on SM a few times and then on Spaceship Earth coming down backwards. Maybe 10 mins tops, but I will always be thinking about the possibility of having to walk off SM, BTMR, RNR or EE!!!!! :scared1:

Been stuck in:

The white room at IASW.
In the haunted mansion, in several locations.
In Spaceship earth, once by the monks, once while coming back down that giant hill.
Once on the TTA.

I think that's it.

I had a friend stuck in California at DL in the little overhead gondolas. They were up there for awhile. Eek.
