Oooh, this is a good thread. I have a GREAT story for this one, so here goes:
All Disney trips I have been on have included myself, DM, DD, DA, DU, and 2 DBs. Well, DA, DU, the older of the DBs (I'm the oldest in the family), and I went on Test Track. We loved it, but we couldn't convince the rest of the family to go on it until the next trip. We had talked it up for a year, saying how it was so awesome and everything. Well, DM, DD, and the younger DB (who I think was nine or ten, and still nervous about most thrill rides) finally got up the nerve to ride.
It was our last night in Epcot, and it was close to closing time, so we all got in a rather long line in order to ride it in time. Unbeknownst to us, it was progressively getting cloudier outside. By the time we got on the ride, it was raining a bit outside, but we had no clue. Since there were so many of us, DB1 (the older one) and I agreed to go alone. We were seated in the back of a car with a Korean family that didn't speak a word of English. Meanwhile, the rest of the family shared a car. They ended up being several cars behind us, so we couldn't turn around to see them.
Anyway, the ride came to a stop several different times. First, we got stuck in the room where it's cold. Then, we got stuck in the room that was hot. THEN, we got stuck in the last room of the environmental check, and a pipe was leaking right above DB1's head. The entire time, we were laughing and giggling about how terrible it was that our DD, DM, and DB were riding for the first time and getting stopped every few feet.
It literally took us an hour to make it all the way through the ride. When we got off, we hung around in the shop, waiting for our family. Another fifteen minutes later, they come through the doors looking haggard. DA and DU are trying really hard not to laugh, you could tell.
As it turns out, the rest of the family got stopped after the car went outside the building. They literally were doing the 60 mph loop thing and came to a screeching halt. On the part of the track where you're basically turned on your side. Rain was drizzling on them a bit, and they were stuck there for five minutes. DM, DD, and DB2 have refused to ride ever since. Meanwhile, the original four (DA, DU, DB1, and me) all still ride and laugh a bit whenever we get to the loop. Our poor family!
