worst experience at disney?

Hmmm...well the worst family thing is when we went w/ my parents and my dad wouldn't leave the hotel room when baseball was on. I did have fun w/ my mom though.

A bad experience w/ Disney itself was eating at Ohana, staying for 3 hours, skewers coming around 1 time, raw chicken wings and being ignored and management didn't even apologize. It was awful and I will never go back again.

These stories are making me nervous!! I took my kids to Disney in 2006, we had such a fantastic time. We are going back this summer and I am wondering how we can match the last vacation. Seems like already things are going awry. Such as the Disney hours for August not being posted on time and cutting back on the shows, free dining which means fighting for ADRs on day 90. I don't remember being this apprehensive last time. I am sure we will have a good time, we tend to roll with the punches, we are planning (but not overly so), we can't control the weather and will hope for the best. I don't know why I feel this way? :confused3

It'll be fun, no matter what! We always have something happen that makes us laugh afterward! Keep your sense of humor and enjoy!!!!

The first time we went we were so disappointed.
First of all, let me say this: We didn't plan. We went last minute so in a way it was our fault.

We picked July to go to Orlando. It was hotter than we expected. We had our DS (then 1 and a half), DSD (then 11) and my sis (then 8). The girls fought the whole time on the vacation.
Then we said maybe Disney would be a good pit stop for ending their fighting. NOPE!!! They fought at the happiest place in the whole world!
It was so hot I was dumping water on my son to cool him down.
There was wall to wall people and the wait times were ridiculous! We had no clue about fast passes until much later. The girls got to ride the barnstormer and my DSD and I rode HM. That was it. No Dumbo, No Mountains.
We vowed to NEVER go back again.
Obviously we decided to go back. This time it was just me DF and DS(4). We had a blast. Went in October.

Things we learned from the first trip:
1) NEVER go in JULY!
2) FAST PASSES are a god send!
3) PLAN PLAN PLAN
4) Don't take preteen girls...:rotfl: J/K

BTW those two girls will be with us this time when we go in September:scared1:
Now they are teenagers(14 and 17) I hope they get along this time...

My worst experience at Disney happened this past September. I was waiting for a bus back to POP. Of course there are no que lines for busses. there. One bus came, filled up and left. This left Myself, DH and another couple to wait for the next bus. We stood right where the bus pulls up, and gradually a line formed behind us. Then came a large group who decided they were forming a new line beside everyone else who was waiting.

When the next bus pulls up, I go to get on and one of the women in the second line grabbed me and pulled my off the bus causing me to sprain my ankle. Then the rest of her party started to climb ON (not over) me to get into the bus. The other couple helped DH get me off the ground and tried to tell the driver what happened. He let them know there wasn't anything that could be done, closed the doors and drove off.

When I finally got to POP, DH went to get a wheelchair to help me back to the room. As soon as he left, the woman who pulled me off the bus came over and started screaming that I was the person who refused to let her get on the bus :confused3. Her family told her to drop it and eventually she went away when DH got back. I still have no idea how someone could be that vicious at Disney.

I had a couple bad experiences on our last trip:
Our plane landed around 3pm. We checked into CBR and went off to the parks, trusting that magical express would deliver our bags while we were out enjoying MK. When we returned around midnight there were no bags to be found. After calling the front desk, and waiting waiting waiting, a couple bags were delivered around 3am, and the rest were delivered the next morning!! I didn't sleep all night, expecting a knock at the door with our long lost luggage. It was spring break...I guess I should have known!

On our last night we had ADR's at Whispering Canyon Cafe. We planned to eat and then ride the boat to MK in time for the fireworks. We finally got seated 2 HOURS after our ressie. There must have been some staffing issues because one server was mad, and it took FOREVER to get our food. And to top it off, my sister came down with a sore throat and fever, literally during that meal. We missed the fireworks:sad1: We didn't miss the light display going around the lake...in fact we didn't miss it about 5 times because the boat had to stop and let it go by before we could move.

But overall the trip was wonderful and magical! DD got to wake up Tinkerbell at MK and all three of us got to talk to Crush!!! DH and I couldn't belive Crush asked to talk to DD's parents!! :yay:We leave June 4th, I can't wait!!!

We ( Me, DH, and DS9) leave Wilderness Lodge and arrive at Epcot at rope drop, as planned. Head straight for Mission Space...right on schedule. Enter our space capsule, buckle as instructed, and off we go. But, guess what? Not 30 seconds into the mission, our DS9 starts to "hurl" and there are no barf bags!!! :scared1: He proceeds to get sick all over himself and my DH. To make a long story shorter, we leave the park and head back to W.L. on the bus...everyone is gagging because we reek. Oh, but wait, the DS must "hurl" yet again on the bus...this time in my DH's backpack. Of course, I'm freaking out b/c our schedule is out the window. When we arrive back, my DH heads to do laundry and we try to re-group. It takes my DS nearly 4 1/2 hours to feel ready to head back to the park. You can imagine the lines by then. We learned a BIG lesson, however. Always travel with changing clothes and baby wipes....and, NEVER ride Mission Space!!!

was when we went to disneyworld for the first time in '03. My sister recommended that we take our 4 yr. old son to the dinosaur ride at the Animal Kingdom. She said that he would really enjoy it. He didn't!!! He got so scared on that ride that he did not want to get on any rides after that especially the ones that had a tunnel or was dark. We were not able to ride on any rides after that.

We were going to Jellyrolls for a night out and my gf wanted to have a smoke or 2 as she enjoys them when she is drinking. We stopped at a store on the Boardwalk and asked for a pack. The CM gave us one but he felt the need to open his shirt and show us his bypass scars from some surgery. He then proceeded to chastise my gf for smoking and how it was going to kill her. Needless to say it was not appreciated and turned us right off. In hindsight, it was kind of surreal and made for a good story.

he felt the need to open his shirt and show us his bypass scars from some surgery
This is just freaky.

Reading this thread I have laughed, cried, and just said WOW. :scared1:

Here's to everyone's future trips being uncomplicated and full of magic!!!! :wizard:

My worst experience happened on my birthday.

My dad and I went last year specifically for Halloween and my birthday which is 2 days after Halloween. The morning on my special day we have an ADR breakfast at CRT. I want to go directly to Pixie Hollow after the breakfast, so we can get there and hopefully avoid the super horrible line as ToonTown would just be opening after we finished breakfast. (This was about 2 weeks after Pixie Hollow officially opened if I remember correctly.) First we get to MK and a CM won't let us past the train station even though we have an ADR time before park opening. We had to go back to the CM at the special ADR gate and she has to yell at the guy to let us in. We finally get past him and I got some lovely pictures of a mostly empty park. We go to breakfast, which was lovely. We finish and I'm all in a big rush to get to Toontown, but my dad wants to stop and grab a cigarette. I'm trying to convince him to let us get over to Toontown and I'll grab spots in line and he can grab a smoke there while I wait, but no, my dad has picked this moment to dig in his heels and be stubborn. I'm pretty mad, but I wait patiently with a smile and figure when we get there and the line is long, he'll just have to deal with the fact that he didn't listen to me. So sure enough we get to Toontown and the line is 90 min long. So we line up and wait. I'm pretty upset and he starts getting mad at me and yelling at me for being upset. I point out that he never listens to me, and this is a prime example, because we could have been in and out in 20 min, if he could have just followed my plan. We both get quiet. I end up crying and he tells me he's sorry. I reach into my pocket for a tissue and realize all my birthday money is gone. He and my grandmother had given my like $300 in my birthday cards that I had just opened at breakfast and it was just gone. I was so embarrassed, because we had just had a fight and made up and here I had gone and lost the money that he had just given me within an hour of getting it. So, I didn't even tell him til the next day when we were packing to leave our condo. After that the day brightened up and everything was great, but that was a pretty grueling morning.

These stories are so entertaining! Sorry, I know that's a horrible thing to say about people's misfortunes. But it's just, Disney... all the planning, all the build-up-- it's like those wedding disaster shows, you cringe in empathy but you just can't look away.

I really had to rack my brains to think of a BAD Disney experience. All my childhood memories are of fun fun fun, and my two trips to date as an adult have also been awesome. Theme parks and me, we rarely have a bad day together.

But I thought of something. When I was around, hmm likely eight years old, and my sister was six, we were staying off-property in a condo with my parents, and also my aunt and uncle and older cousins. They decided to do something else one day, and my parents did too I guess, so my older and very sweet and patient aunt took my sister and I to Magic Kingdom.

The first thing that happened that day was my sister wandered off during the parade. I remember I was pretty upset that we wasted valuable Disney time looking for her! She told me later that her ghost dog had led her away (remember those stiff leashes with harnesses you could buy in front of the Haunted Mansion? We both had a "ghost dog"). THEN, insult to injuries, my aunt could see that we had been excited by this little adventure, and decided we would go back to the hotel for a pool break!

I have a pool at home. This was the WORST news I had ever heard. I grumped all the way out of the parks, as we took the tram to our lot. I finally did it-- I threw a tantrum. I stormed away from my aunt and sister.

She, being an incredibly patient person, had not gotten angry or engaged with me. There were some bushes by the tram. She thought I was sulkin behind them.

But I wasn't. I got back on the tram. :rotfl:

This would have worked out GREAT-- if I knew anything about the Disney tram system. But I did not. Or maybe the driver saw through my clever ruse, because I went on what I call the "Disney Parking Lot Tour". We went and stopped at EVERY lot in that place. I remember dwarves, chip and dale, several characters. It was probably not longer than ten minutes but I remember it felt like I had been on that tram all day. Finally the tram stopped-- at the parking lot ACROSS from where I had gotten on.

I meekly slid off the bench seat, walked back to my aunt, and allowed her to take me back to the hotel for a break without further incident.

What still gets me today is that I was SO CLOSE-- if I had just stuck on that tram I would have been back at the monorail. But I wasn't taking a chance of more parking lot sightseeing. That was the end of my thwarted Disney adventure.

This is also known in our family as the trip where my Aunt lost both of us at Disney World.

We just returned on Saturday night from our first Disney vacation ever,we were so disappointed with almost every park.Animal Kingdom was the best park we visited. The employees there were very nice and we had a good time.Magic Kingdom was the worst, the people were rude and it was so crowded we couldn't even walk.We rode 2 rides and waited a long time for them. When we went to Epcot we didn't ride anything, with a fast pass the wait for soarin was 6 hours.I would not recommend the Dinosaur ride to anyone that has children that are under the age of 13,this is at Animal Kingdom,it is very scary. We couldn't believe how rude the people are in Florida. We feel like it was a huge waste of money to go to Disney. We have a son who is almost 7 and he even said he didn't ever want to go back.We did take an airboat ride while in Florida that was awesome.I would suggest it to anybody that was going.

N/M.....I saw the post and didn't see this was 17 pages long so I'm sure it'd be beating a dead horse...

Here's another one...my dad and I got into a fight because he was taking some of my french fries and he decided to give my sister and I the silent treatment and sit in fantasyland for about 2 hours lounging in the sun.

Also a few years ago I "ran away" in the magic kingdom...(interpret that how you like). I got fed up with my family and my sister tried to chase after me but it was too hot. I ended up in adventureland refusing to answer my cell phone.
