I don't miss the E Ticket. You always ran out of them first and had a bunch of the others left over. The day passes were a welcome change.

I prefer to go in the Fall, but the Free Dining and the advance reservations makes it almost impossible to "wing it" anymore.

Alien Encounter.
It might have not been "all ages appropriate", but it was a theme park classic. I.E., it was independent of films, like the greatest Disney attractions, HM and POTC- well, what POTC USED to be.
As Stitch's escape and Tiki Room: Under New Management prove, gratuitous addition of nominal characters does NOT always improve an experience.

I'll have to revisit this thread after we go next fall because it has been a while. Some of the stuff I have read has made me sad. The silly verbage in the TTA is gone? Innoventions is gone? sniff

I miss Alien Encounter, too. I wish Disney had more psychological thrill rides than they do. Motion is a cheap thrill, but there is a level of sophistication in a ride that makes you think something is happening, or going to happen, when it's not, that I really enjoy.

Mickey and Minnies houses in Toontown. My dd spent at least 3 hours there one day during one of the Pirate and Princess Parties that we went to, and while we were bored to tears, our memories of it are priceless.

What was that movie narrated by Martin Short about sex? That was a hoot.

Tapestry of Dreams parade was great, too.

The Tarzan show was one of our favorites.

We'll have to see how the dining has changed, if it has changed. I was never overly impressed with Disney World dining (I know, sacrilege! ) anyway. I thought Disneyland's dining was far superior when we started going there. Even just the counter service at Disneyland is really yummy. Disney World counter service mostly seemed like crappy fast food, and the sit down places were OK. Honestly, I think my favorite sit down meal I had there was at the San Angel, and I know it's not considered one of the good places, but I enjoyed it much more then Le Cellier, and that was when everyone was raving about Le Cellier all over the place. Perhaps the atmosphere made everything seem even better.

The menu change at O'hanas was greeted with much unhappiness from the spouse. I don't know what it is like now, but in the 2005 time frame dh fell in love with it, and when we went back in 2007 it was different and he grumbles about to this day. Especially the dessert. We both hate bread pudding.

Diamond Horseshoe Revue in the MK!!!!! I miss this SO much. To be able to take the kids in there to cool off, get an ice cream and just sit and laugh our heads off. Some of the best Disney memories were in there.

4 for a Dollar, PLEASE bring these guys back?? I miss the live entertainment, why are they getting rid of it?

Doug Live...same thing. Gone are the live shows, this one was SO fun. Disney please, we all love these shows!!

Please whatever you do, the BEST thing about going to the MK is seeing all the entertainment around you, the Mayor, the bands, parades... Same with DHS and the streetmosphere characters, don't take them away!! It's what we love the most.

Miss the skyway and the old tiki room. A few more things as well. The worst change is the TIKI room.
Best change is the ADR 180+10 and dining plan.

I do dearly miss the entire Wonders of Life pavilion. Seeing Cranium Command is one of the only things I remember from that trip.

I also miss the old Winnie the Pooh and Tigger costumes. The old Pooh one had bigger eyes and looked more like a stuffed bear, and the old Tigger wasn't neon orange.

Hahaha.....I know, I hear most people are glad it has gone and that it didnt 'fit' with the EPCOT theme but I still miss it, I really liked it there! When it disappeared, I walked up towards EPCOT and was like where had the wand gone?? I even asked a CM why it had gone and when it was coming back He was like 'Erm.....never.....'

Ah well, its nice that we are all different eh! Makes things more interesting!

Miss most: Tapestry of Nations parade

Worst addition: Dining plan...worst thing to happen to dinning at Disney. Food quality is poor and variety and creativity is gone.

Never expected to say this but dining at Universal has surpassed WDW...also discovered great restaurants off property. Money we save not dinning on property pays for the rental car every trip.

As a couple we really miss the Pleasure Island from our first trip in 2001. It was fun and different from the rest of the World. Dare I say it, it was a place adults could go without kids around and still be in the Disney Magic. Plus you had free transportation to your resort after having a few wobbly pops. Disney needs more shops like they have all over property? Please. Come to think of it all of Downtown Disney has gone downhill since then. Virgin Superstore got a bunch of our money back then.

Dinning at the World has gone in the toilet since 2001. You were hard pressed to find a bad meal at any restaurant on property then. With the standardization of the food products you might as well do counter service the whole trip, it's bland and boring too but it costs less. The dinning plan is a good idea but if it helped bring the quality down then I would rather have it the old way and bring back the uniqueness of the individual restaurants and pay out of pocket.

Until I read it here, I forgot about the individual souvenirs at the parks and resorts. That would explain why our budget for those things went down the last few trips. We use to buy something from our resort and every park because it was unique to that place. Now you just need to visit Mouse Gear once and get the few things to remember that particular trip. I guess I should thank them for that!

It's too bad the bean counters have gotten their way. They are slowly taking away the things that made Disney World heads above the rest. We'll still go but for how long is anyone's guess if they keep this up.

I really miss when I used to be able to say I'd never seen Captain Eo.

I'm nastalgic of many rides, but at the same time I'm glad that WDW is constantly being refreshed. World of Motion, Hunchback, 10000 Leagues, Mr Toad, If I Could Fly, the Dreamfinder being part of the Imagination pavilion, Cranium Command, Food Rocks, the puppet verison of the Lion King show where Philharmagic is now located, the full version of the Backstage Tour at MGM... I look back on all of these fondly.

Stitch is my favorite Disney character but his attraction is just AWFUL.

I miss the old version of Journey into Imagination. I LOVED the Dreamfinder, actually got to meet him once outside the attraction and it was very exciting for little six year old me I also really REALLY miss the old version of ImageWorks. One time, my dad asked the CM inside at the attraction to let us just go upstairs without having to ride the ride again and he let us! Some Disney magic I'll never forget

I never really was a huge fan of the Mexico attraction, but it was MUCH better before it added the Three Caballeros.
