Worst change in the last 10 years...What do you miss most

The absolute #1 worst change for me is the homogenization of dining. I HATE the standardized "who cares" menus and middling quality ingredients. It's getting so hard to find a week's worth of restaurants to get excited about.

I don't think you can exactly blame DDP, but you can definitely blame free dining. Mostly, though, I think it's uninspired management. You can streamline your supply chain without making me get a little depressed every time I open a menu.

Other lowlights:

1.) Taking away hopping/non expiry on passes.
2.) Taking away valet for DVC members.
3.) Taking away PI.

Can anyone say why some of these attractions ended?

We have never seen the Tapestry of Nations, what was it?

We miss Who Wants to be a Millionaire, though I understand why they got rid of it. Haven't seen the new Tiki Room and doesn't look like we will on the next trip as they just had a fire in it a few days ago.

I understand people's complaints about the dining plan. We love the dining plan, we just don't like how the food and service went down, because of it.

Mr. Toad.....we still get to see here at DL, so that's now big deal to us.

We miss TTA here at DL but are glad to ride it at MK, likewise for Carosel of Progress.

Tapestry of Nations was a parade through World Showcase in Epcot that they started in 2000 for the Millennium.

Tarzan Rocks (although I really enjoy Nemo), the old version of Spaceship Earth (so miss Jeremy Irons) and the new version of TTA is annoying. I also miss having specific merchandise. Its all the same now. Same with the menus. A lot of the really good stuff is gone, it all tastes the same now, kind of reminds me of flight attendants walking up the aisle saying "chicken or beef".

Thank you jekjones 1558 for posting the video link for Tapestry of Nations.

It really made me cry as it brought back so many emotions from that time.

We had just newly joined the vacation club and were staying at our home resort, BWV for the first time. I felt so blessed to be able to be in such a magical place to celebrate the Millennium and I just wished that everyone could experience that kind of happiness at some time in their lives.

I remember watching Tapestry and Reflections for the first time and being so full of joy I thought I would explode! The music, the commentary, everything was just so inspiring and full of hope for the future.

I miss The Magic!

ok - Horizons was my favorite ride as a child/teen. That being said as a kid in the 80's (so longer than 10 years) the best thing ever was the second floor in Journey into the Imagination. The ride = awesome but the playground upstairs with the rainbow tube, the musical floor, and the ability to be in the movie....WOW!

Also wanted to second kitchen Caberet. A sentimental favorite of my mom - she always made us go!

Last 10 years - in 04 we planned a spur of the moment trip to celebrate our engagament/my birthday. One morning we walked up to Tony's and got a great resevation for the porch during the evening parade! (Now we did get to the ressie way early and waited for a long long time for the table per the advice of the manager) but it was just the most awesome experience!

The worst thing that Disney has ever done by far is replace E ticket nights with extra magic hours. E ticket nights was the best thing that Disney ever had.

:worship: AMEN!

Riding BTMR 4 times in a row without having to get off?? Unheard of now.

Riding Space Mountain 15 times in one night while still doing all the other open rides at least once? Unheard of now.

Lights of Winter arch plus the accompanying and light show and nightly tree-lighting at Epcot.

Hunchback stage show.

Back lot houses at DHS

Variety of dated and special event items for purchase.

Holiday Illuminations - an entire show, not just the tag that remains today.

Mickey's Night Before Christmas at Tomorrowland

and now going back a ways...

The holiday dinners at the Contemporary. Family-style dining with a full holiday show immediately after dinner. This event's final year was 1996, I think.

Wow, there are so many good ones here that I agree with, but if I had to narrow it to my top 3, they would be:

1. The whole free dining/dining plan/I miss the better quality food thing.
2. Changing the narration on TTA.
3. The Rio del tiempo ride in Mexico. We rode the new one once and will never ride it again.

the fact that stitch has taken over and RUINED what was one of the best Disney attractions still angers me. Bring Back Alien Encounter!!! We can take it!!!

Worst Change in Magic Kingdom - the "new management" at the Tiki Room.

I miss Mr Toad's too and I will miss Snow White - so I am very thankful to have all 3 in Disneyland.

Worst Change in EPCOT - I think there are a lot. I really miss the old Journey Into Imagination and Horizons. I think overall for EPCOT, the worst change is dropping a lot of the EDU- from the Edutainment.

"Tropical Sernade" in Magic Kingdom, those were the days<3 UNM is horrible!
"Festival of The Lion King" *Puppet Show* Loved it as a kid!
The old Figment with Dreamfinder<3

We lost a lot of great stuff in Epcot: Cranial Command, the classic version of Spaceship Earth, El Rio de Tiempo...

Oh yeah the classic version of the Tiki Room
