Worried about getting AKL at 11 months

Hi all,

You'll have to excuse my crazy questions as I'm a fairly new member (two weeks!!!) I'm going to need a 2 bedroom at AKV next October (probably the third week). I know it is one of the most popular times for DVC members and I was planning on making my ressies day by day come this November. My questions is - will it be really difficult that time of year? It seem like they keep selling "shares" in AKV, but only have the small amount of AKL rooms for the next year or so. Will DVD "oversell" the amount of points for just having the lodge and not the new building?

Hope this makes some kind of sense!

I recently made a res for next July for 11 nights in 1 br value. I think thatg the values will be in demand. I had no trouble at all. I booked it all at once, because I had not learned about the day by day thing. Called at 9 AM exactly 11 months from our departure date. No problem!

I also think that DVC can only sell for units that will be available soon. I don't think that they can sell Kidani units yet.

If I am wrong, a DVC vet will correct me soon!

At 11 months out you should be ok. As for over selling points a member will only be able to book once 'their' unit is ready for renting out, so that may mean although some people buy DVC they may not be able to use the membership for a while, the exception being the current Double Developer Points, but they only have a 7 month window for booking.

Thank you both for your responses, I think I'm just overthinking it too much I just want this to go smoothly so DH does not regret buying in finally. Oh well, guess we'll see in another two months when I can finally make the reservation!

OH and just looked at the paperwork last night - we can now "offically" make out plans as out unit became "available" on September 1st!

October is popular for BWV and BCV because they are close to Epcot and the Food & Wine Festival. I don't think you will have a problem with AKV.
