Woo-hoo! AirTran Prices Went Down!

I booked an AirTran flight to/from Orlando last week for $79 each way. Today, they are having a fare sale, and the price went down to $69. They honored the lower price, and now I have a nice credit for a future flight!

That also happened to me, for the Saturday after Thanksgiving to the following Saturday.

I jumped the gun and booked mine at $104. The next day, they dropped down to $99.00 down and $59.00 coming back.

Since it was around 24 hours since I had book, they honored the lower fare and I didn't even need the credit - they just changed it for me on the reservation.

Today they are back to $112.00!

What did you have to do to get the credit? I saw the email today too, and checked on my DH's flight for June 5. It's $10 cheaper today only. I figured I was out of luck, or at most they would issue a credit to use on a future flight, but who knows when that would be. I decided I wasn't going to worry about it. We booked the flight last Saturday, so it's been a few days. Should I call and see if they'll refund the $10 to my credit card? Oh, I guess I'll have to have DH call and he hates doing stuff like that, ugh...

I booked our flights on Friday, April 30. I just had to call and request the credit. Since it was more than a few hours since I booked, I was only able to get the credit for a future flight. That works for us, since we're going back in December.

Oh, and anyone who is booked can request the credit for everyone if your reservations are linked. (Our reservations show up under both my name and my DH's name.)

Thanks for the quick response! Only DH is flying. DD and I are driving down earlier in the week with my parents and my sisters kids. DH will join us at the end of their trip and we'll do our own trip then. Lucky for me and DD!!!

I don't think I'll worry about it. DH is really busy work-wise today and it's only $10 and who knows when we'd be able to use it...

I agree; for me to go from 104.00 to 59.00, it was soooooo worth it.

We have three round trips between now and November, none of them went down for us

Didn't come down for me, either, but I only paid $84 plus taxes so I don't feel too bad. Still, money is money and I'd rather keep what I have than give it away!
