WONDERous adventures on the Panama Canal - 4/23/17

Thinking of booking this cruise, however there are no veranda rooms left...might just book oceanview and hope for a cancellation to open up...

Hop on board. I can almost guarantee that rooms will open up once PIF date rolls around.

I am glad that I really couldn't change to the 2018 WBPC. The prices I am seeing seem higher than the 2017 ones but maybe I'm wrong:confused3

One reason prices are higher as taxes are higher. I am continuing the streak of taking all of DCL's WBPC and we are booked in at cat 5B with insurance for 6100. The part DCL sees for the voyage fare is 2457 a person. That comes out to 175.50 a night per person. I think that is reasonable for a two week cruise.

Honestly, I don't even pay attention to the taxes. But is it wrong that I am happy people are jumping ship and I may be able to change my room?

Honestly, it is only showing as $200 more for us for the same room in 2018. I don't think that's too bad as price increases go.

I have to say I had a moment of "I wish I could go on thst cruise!" with the 2018 WBPC. We can not switch due to school timing for our two kids, plus one will be starting Highschool and the new cruise was almost $1000 more for the four of us in the same room. Cannot wait until April 2017!

If I would have booked the same room for 2018 I think that is about right. We downgraded back to a 5B for 2018. This years cruise we decided for a cat. T because the new locks and basically new ship, we decided to live it up a little.

I was doing a little research about cruise ships and the new locks and it looks like we might be the first cruise ship to go through the new locks. All reports talk about the Princess Carribean, but she won't sail through until Oct. 2017. Anyone else have any other info? That would be pretty amazing!

Hey - don't forget, Southwest opens dates for our return flight tomorrow morning. Happy shopping! Highly recommend those early bird check-ins!....

I would call it being helpful not excited. What I am excited about is all the changes to the wonder. I have seen some pics taken from the ship just yesterday. I can't post them so no on gets I trouble, but I love what I have seen so far.

Hope everyone who is booking Southwest got good fares. Glad I already had air booked cause the prices I saw for one way this morning were insane!

Great tip on the coffee in Columbia! :thanks:

we just got our return flight booked, now to book hotels.

And finish FE but I have been working on them!

The WBPC 2018 is tempting, but I won't get DH to agree until we try our first. Also 2018 is becoming full with other commitments. We are really interested in a British isles....but the costs! Yikes!

So jealous of the itinerary for 2018! But honeymoon . . . . . So dates are relevant , when I priced out the same room I think it was 150 higher. . . . . Not too bad, but I'm sure I'll love this trip all the same, can't wait for April!

Hello y'all!!!

My name is Joni and my husband is Troy. We are going on our first 14 day cruise - without our children! We are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. This is my 9th cruise and Troy's 8th. Wonder is our favorite ship. We love to do an adults only FE.

Congratulations! I am sure you will have a wonderful time ! I believe you will need to send an email to join the FE, on the front page, but welcome ! :)

There are some great pictures of the interior on the main DCl cruise page here - she looks beautiful :)

I agree, the British Isles cruises are sky high. You could always make a friend in the UK and use them as a base to visit. Just sayin' ;-)

Welcome Joni, we are travelling without our kids too - it's such a different experience. We miss them but it's soooo relaxing

I know pics have been posted. My buddy in the ship asked me not to post so I respected that but now that they are sailing with guests I will post one. Also for those staying after the cruise and want to use SWA to get home 12/6 is the day you are looking for IMG_2755.JPG
