That is true. We are silver and with a 3 day cruise there won't be too many slots available for us to book for onboard activities. I saw a video showing that they will be doing tastings in the salons at night. That should create more slots for people...not sure...I had a debate for the same thing of either 4 night on Wish so the verandah or 8 nights on fantasy on ocean view. Ultimately, I went with the 8 nights on fantasy. I just couldn’t justify a cruise half as long for the same price. Also I felt like on the Wish most activities onboard were going to be booked by concierge and platinum, which we are neither. We have never been on the Fantasy and are looking forward to it. I’m excited to spend 8 nights on the ship and be able to relax and not feel like I have to rush to see and do everything that I want
Dang that Disney! The allure of all that newness! In the opposite direction is the pull of better ports of call on the Fantasy for us!I feel your pain @mickeymom22
I'm going in the opposite direction though. We're booked on the Dream out of Miami and I'm looking at going on the Wish instead. Only thing is that it's $1200 more. The Wish looks so beautiful though...and of course my husband said do it! He loves new stuff. "I can still smell the fresh paint, the china had never been used."

Either way, Disney + Cruising =![]()
Port Canaveral
On 7 night cruises I start to get full towards the end. Those big MDR dinners, night after night, start to add up. That's one reason I prefer a 5 night cruise. The entertainment does start to feel a bit repetitive as well, even on DCL.I prefer 4/5 night cruises myself. I've done 7/8 night cruises and I start to get anxious.

Wow! Seeing the eagles sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!I have sailed with a veranda and then gone back to an ocean view once. I really missed the verandah. I do love watching the ocean and relaxing with coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The odd thing is I prefer a veranda on a longer cruise. You have more time to relax so you get more use out of it. On a shorter cruise I am not in the room much.
I could definitely do an inside room though, if the price is so much less. On an Alaskan cruise we had ocean view. I woke up early and went up on deck as we were pulling into Ketchikan and there were eagles flying over my head as the sun was rising. It was so beautiful. I would have missed that if I were on a veranda because our room was facing away from the port, and I wouldn't have had to go out of the room to be outside. So one of my best outdoor cruise moments was when we had a small ocean view room. Go figure!
That said, I am sticking with the Wish for this year. I think it is beautiful and I really want to see it and experience it in person while it is fairly new. Whatever you end up choosing, enjoy your cruise!
I understand about not really wanting to go to Nassau. We have only been on two cruises both stopped in Nassau and we don't really need to go back there. One cruise was supposed to stop at Key West, but the weather kept us out to sea. My Wish cruise is just stopping at Castaway Cay while the Fantasy stops there plus Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Thanks for sharing!I always prefer a longer cruise. I've done two 7-nights (Wonder and Fantasy) and one 5-night (Wonder) and seemed to relax more when I have more time on the ship. The Wish does not appeal to me right now for a few reasons. A short cruise does not appeal to me, and neither does a quick jaunt over to Nassau. I also like having several sea days to just unwind.
That would be a sweet upgrade! Once we got a free upgrade at All-Star Music to a family suite and we were so excited! That unexpected magic is the best!Book the oceanview and try to upgrade to verandah at the port. We had oceanview and upgraded from cat 8 to 5 for $48 a night (3 night cruise) in May. Others in our group were lucky and got it for free!
Does this mean you can't do another cruise on a ship you've sailed on until you've sailed on every ship? Likewise, does it mean you can't return to an American-based Disney park until you've visited DLP, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong?We are now in the same position. Booked a b2b on the Wish. Watched some of the walkthroughs and videos and paused with a giant "oh". We are two adults and the reduced adults section on the Wish is disappointing for us. Considering the 8 night on the Fantasy for half the cost. But then, I am a Disney completest... so ... dunno.
I can go without a verandah, however it has to be an ocean view room. Interior rooms save you more money but I need some sort of window to the outside so I don't feel like I'm in a box.I have sailed with a veranda and then gone back to an ocean view once.
