Wonder, Waves and Wishes. 18th October 2009. Remembering the waves!

Yet, with all of this I still feel completely unprepared....Does anyone else feel that way?

YES!!! ::yes:: I have so many things yet to do, but I know that I'll get all of it done - somehow! Like today, for instance. Instead of working on the kid's Halloween costumes, I am going through what we call our "pharmacy" bags (cosmetics, medications, hair stuff - you know what I mean) to get them all ready. It's something that needs to be done, but it's NOT on my to-do list for today. I guess that's my way of procrastinating.

And thanks for finding out about the movies!!! That is so cool!

Do you have the address to ship to. I want to ship my FE gifts there.

I followed these instructions that were listed by the board moderator under a sticky thread entitled "DCL Alphabetical Listings...."

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Hi, everyone,
I just found this thread yesterday and have managed to read through them all. My DH and I will be in cabin 6096. This will be our 4th DCL vacation. DH is currently attending meetings at Johnson Space Center and will join me on Friday when we come home to Animal Kingdom Villas. After the cruise, we'll be at Saratoga Springs until the 26th.

Are any of you doing the "Race For The Taste" on 10/11? DH is doing the 3K and I'm doing the 10K. What about "The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror" on the 24th? He's doing the 5K and I'm doing the 13K.

DH's name is Doug and his DCL name is "Merlin." My name is Shirley and my Disney name is "Chipmunk." We live near San Francisco and go to Disneyland a lot. Thank goodness for cheap tix on Southwest!
Shirley

See you on the 18th!

Called DCL today … I asked about the movies onboard the 10/18 sailing and this is what the very nice CM told me:

Bolt (3D)
Hannah Montana
Earth
Up (3D)
The Proposal
G-Force
Surrogates
Toy Story (3D)

I asked if the Toy Story was 1 & 2 which is in theatres now in 3-D and he said yes.

Thanks for the info. Looks like we'll be going to a lot of movies. Just got our copy of Earth today, but I think it'll be a lot better on the big screen. It also means that we don't have to go to the local theatre to see Toy Story. Yay!

Hello Shirley. Good to meet you. We wil not be doing the Race For The Taste. Unfortunately, we aren't going to WDW this year, just the cruise and cocoa beach with a day at Downtown Disney.

Just wanted to let everyone doing FE's that we have 2 rooms (one family with 4 kids=2 rooms), and I decided to make an FE for our other door as well. (Didn't know if I would get to it until now.) Our room numbers are 6530 and 6528. (Originally just listed as 6530.) Same number of people, no change concerning gifts. Just 2 options for using-doesn't matter which! Hope this isn't too confusing. Rick and Lori-could you please post on your door for anyone who doesn't get this?

Thanks!

Welcome Shirley and Doug! We unfortunately won't be at the races-we thought about doing the Twilight Tower 5K, but being so late at night wouldn't work with the kids! (Doing MNSSHP instead!)

Thanks for the warm welcome! We're doing MNSSHP on the 13th - afternoon tea at Grand Floridian with Orlando friends first.

Since this is the last year for Race for the Taste and Twilight Tower, we decided we'd better get them in before we missed them entirely. I can understand not doing Twilight with kidlets - it's going to be hard enough for us to stay awake! LOL!

I really feel bad about missing out on the races-my dh and I both like to run. We are psyched about MNSSHP though-we are going on the 22nd, the day we get off the ship. This will be our 4th or 5th time going to it-we love it!!!

OK woo hoo so close to the trip. We are packing this weekend!!! Anyone else??? We leave next friday. I have a hair appt next friday morning, pedicure then pick up the kids and head to the airport. Hopefully time will fly till them.

We leave a week from Saturday. I am planning to start packing on Monday-I don't want to be rushing at the last minute! (Which is what usually happens!) I also have appts. two days before we leave-3 of them in one day! (getting my haircut too.) Does anyone else have that happen to them? I didn't realize I had made that many-one is a dentist appt I made 6 mos ago! Ahgg!

I'm leaving this Friday - have most things out ready to toss in the suitcase tomorrow. Hair appt tomorrow - manicure & pedicure already done. All the little pesky things are done - camera batteries & cell phone charged; paper canceled, mail held, etc, etc, etc.

DH is in Houston on business and will meet me at WDW. Then it's just play in the parks for a few days and we'll see all of you on board! Can't wait!!!! This is probably my last post as I'll be shutting down the computer tomorrow afternoon. Those 4:30 am departures to the airport are for the birds!

:thumbsup2 Got it noted!

We pulled out the "cruise bag" a few days ago and checked that everything was there. We're working out of town till Wednesday- then home packing clothes and picking up Halloween costumes (HAD to find something after the letter we got!) and flying out Friday. I have just about everything done that I wanted to do. Just want to embroider a DISapalooza shirt to wear for our Downs Syndrom walk on Saturday.... I think that's it! Everything else has been covered!

Allison changed her costume last minute. She went from Tinkerbelle to a Pirate. Her costume came in the mail today (super close one). I am so excited. I hope they get my room extra clean!!!

The only problem with Pirate Night and the Halloween party being on two different night is that our costumes ARE pirate ones. We are planning on wearing them for Pirate Night, but I don't think that my DH will want to get his back on for the second in three consecutive nights (we're doing MNNSHP on the 22nd). But we'll see.

Does anyone know which night on the ship they are doing the halloween party?

We are not dressing as pirates-but in case anyone is interested, I found some great pirate polo shirts at Target in the boys clearance section. (I got them for $2 each!) They are black with pirate skull and swords in white printed all over. I got them for each of my boys-thought they would be great for pirate night!

I saw a navigator posted from a past October trip, and it happened on the sea day, or the 4th night. Pirate Night was on the 3rd night.

Thanks so much for the info! My dh and I have been trying to find out if the night we have Palo ressies would conflict with the halloween party. (Even called DCL and they didn't even know our sailing had the party!) Haven't been able to get any kind of answer until now. We have Palo on the 2nd night-so that would be perfect!

Next question. How dressed is everyone getting on "dress" night, and do you stay dressed for the show? We have been on one other DCL cruise, (3 nighter) and though we were told no-one dressed, but we did see lots dressed up-some even in formals! Although we have Palo that night, we would love to bring clothes for the kids to have Pics done in. Any thoughts/experiences with this?

I have only been on the 7 night. We are going to get dressed up nice because I want nice pics with the family. We will probably change for the show though. I want to be comfy. In 1 week I will be sitting on the runway!!!
