I booked an inside room (gasp, I know) but it was on level 6 and I figured it would be quieter for the kids to go to sleep. They have oceanview rooms available (forward and aft) but all the reviews I read say it is super loud on level 2. They do have a midship deck 1 (room 1078). They also have a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom – Guaranteed Stateroom, Category 09B, Deck 2. This is all just a few hundred more than my interior room. The guaranteed room is a hundred more than picking the actual room. What do I do? We are really only in the room for sleeping and have two young ones so the dark room is not an issue! THANKS!

Deck 2 on the classics ships is the only deck we've ever been on. We love it.

Personally, I would choose a deck 2 GTY over a specific room on deck 1. Deck 1 rooms have two small portholes, while deck 2 has one large porthole in the room. If you book a 9B GTY, you'll get at least that and that's a great place to be - midship.

We loved our 9C oceanview, deck 2 Aft, 2116 on the Wonder this August. Very little noise, heard people in the hallways a couple nights going to their rooms and that's about it.

Had deck 2 forward (2002) in March - great room, no noise, good muster location.

Thanks so much! I can pick a room on deck 2 and save $100 or do the GTY category 9B on Deck 2 for $100 more. Thoughts?

I thought the choice was a specific deck 1 room vs a GTY deck 2 room? Did a deck 2 room open up?

What category are the room(s) you can select from? I would depend on where those rooms are located. I prefer a room midship. But will take one a bit more aft or forward (in that order) of midship if I have to. I don't really want a room that's too far forward, but would go fairly close to aft.

for the forward rooms they have these available -2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2500, 2502, 2504 and then the aft they have 2142 and 2144. I REALLY appreciate your help!!!! I didn't know if I should have just one the GTY room, or stick with the inside room since it is on deck 6. I have two kids that I cherish when they are sleeping and didn't want to be right below a bar or restaurant or anything that keeps them up! lol

We were in 2144 on our first cruise (on the Magic, but the layout is the same). I would pick either 2142 or 2144, if it were me and those were my choices.

Both of those are beneath the entry area for Parrot Cay (or Tiana's, if after drydock) and it's not noisy there after dinnertime.

We had a 9B midship room a couple of weeks ago and loved it. I love being midship and this was our first time on deck 2 and it was great. Personally, I would go for the midship room, but that's me.

We didn't stay inside but I LOVED Deck 6 midship for location, was super convenient to everything on board. We aren't elevator people so it was an easy walk to restaurants, theater, pool deck.

With those options (of far forward or far aft) I'd go for the GTY 9B room. (I'm sure the inside on deck 6 would be fine...but I need a window to look outside.) We stayed in 2116 and I wouldn't have wanted to be more than a couple rooms farther aft than that. When we were in Parrot Cay on deck 3 for dinner, we could feel the chairs vibrating, I'd imagine the rooms under that would be as well.

Last September we were on the Wonder for the first time, deck 6, midship, inside room (6049.) We LOVED the location and I liked being midship. Next summer we are back on the Wonder deck 2 oceanview, midship. Was a bit worried about being lower down but there are many good reviews on our room (2608) and for Alaska we wanted an oceanview (well, really a verandah but it's out of price range!). Having said that I would absolutely choose deck 6 midship inside in the future, too :)

2004 or 2504 they are the largest! We had the 2504 on our Hawaiian Cruise and it was great. We had 2012 on our Transatlantic. We love deck 2 Forward!

See if you can get a sideways room on deck 6 (they also have them on deck 5). The room layout apparently makes them seem bigger. You can see which cabins are sideways online while choosing a stateroom: they're the insides that look like vertical rectangles rather than horizontal rectangles. I thnk all of the sideways rooms are standard insides.

We had a standard (not sideways) inside on deck 6 of the Magic and liked the room just fine. We were aft, so heard/felt a little bit of engine vibration at times (nothing terrible, just not my preference), so we will stick with mid-ship or forward next time. We liked being on one of the middle decks as it made us less reliant on elevators.
