WONDER May 20, 2015 San Diego to Vancouver!

The first cruise we went on was a two night cruise, so really, it was everything on our at Sea Day. The second one we went on, they assigned a day for you to deliver to all.

Both of these are very legitimate choices and there may be other ways to do it as well, these are just the two that I have experience with. I think the assign a day to to each cabin for them to deliver is a good once, especially if we don't get many more people signing up.

I have also updated the FE post with a link to Canada's Border agency's site and to remind everyone to declare everything that they are bringing into Canada.

Sorry, I'm new to this. :/ Just read the thread. Thank you so much cmwade77 for organizing this! We'd love to join!

Cabin 2511

Tami- adult

*On our first cruise, last September, we enjoyed getting gifts through out the cruise. It was fun to see what was there every time we returned to our cabin. So I vote for deliveries whenever you want. :). Thanks!

Also, it's fun to know your favorite characters and special events. ;)

Alexandra LOVES Elsa
Tami loves Minnie
Darren loves Goofy

May 20th will be our 14th anniversary!

Hi All,
We are new to this forum so I'm still getting use to navigating around. I'm glad I found this thread. This cruise will be our 2nd cruise but first time on the Wonder. Our first cruise was on the Fantasy March 2014. This will also be our first time participating in FE. My DH and I will be cruising with two boys 6 and 4.

We are a little nervous going from a big ship to a "smaller" one. We will miss the Aquaduck. Can anyone tell us about the Aquadunk? Is it scary?

Also, we will be flying back to LA on 5/25/15. Any recommendations for transportation to the airport, other than through Disney?

Thanks in advance for any advise. Looking forward to meeting you guys.

If you would like to participate in the Fish Extender, please PM me the following information:
Cabin Number:
Number of Adults:
Number of Children:
Ages of Children:
Gender of each adult and child, if you wish to avoid a "boy" gift being given to a girl or vice versa.
List Names, if so desired:

In order to keep this safe and fun for all, please list all Allergies or items you can't have for religious or other reasons (don't care what the reason is, just the items, such as alcohol, pork, coffee, etc.):
Please specify if these items should not be given to your cabin at all or if it applies to specific people in your cabin. If it applies to specific people, please mention which ones, either by name or age and gender depending on the information you shared.

I'm too new to be able to PM. Thanks in advance for adding us.
Cabin:2616 (we are still hoping to move to a higher room)
Adults: two (Jeff and Lan)
Children: two boys (Aidan 6 yo and Liam 4yo)
Allergies: peanuts for both boys, Aidan can't have wheat.

The Aquadunk is in the Magic, the Wonder does not have one as of yet. Perhaps after its Next drydock, But not yet.

Re: transportation to the airport

If you don't mind walking two or three blocks (from Canada Place to Waterfront subway station), the Canada Line of Skytrain takes you right to the Vancouver Airport. Be careful which Canada Line train you board because one train goes to the airport and the other train will go somewhere else.

We used Skytrain last year to get to the airport after our cruise on the Disney Wonder.

I agree.... then again it's a free ticket to the Orient...

Why the rush to leave Canada so soon...

This is our first Disney Cruise and we are SO excited!! We are traveling with our 3 kids (6 and twin 3 year olds), my sister, my father and his wife and my aunt. We have 3 rooms between the lot of us. I've heard about the fish hook and gifting other passengers (I think) thing but I totally don't understand how it all works. Can anyone point me to where I can educate myself a bit more and give me any advice on cruising with Disney! Thank!!!

Here are a few Disney Cruise Line Tips

Port Day
Get to the port early. The sooner you board the ship the sooner you start your vacation and get a chance to explore the ship. Lunch is served at Parrot Cay on Deck 3 or Beach Blanket on Deck 9. We prefer Parrot Cay, since you may end up eating outside if you choose Beach Blanket. Depending on the weather, it can be nice, but you often have to fend off birds looking for a snack. Your stateroom is typically available between 1:30-2:00. Luggage could start arriving to your room at 2:00, but it can take several hours until all your bags arrive. Go explore the ship while you wait for your stateroom to be available. The afternoon is really busy. Mandatory Life Boat Drill at 4:00-4:30, Sail Away Party at 4:30-5:30, the ship departs at 5:00 and main seating cruisers have dinner at 6:00 while the second seating cruisers have the show at 6:00.

Over The Door Shoe Holder (ODSH)
Because counter space in the bathroom(s) is limited, we bring an Over the Door Shoe Holder. You are not permitted to hang the ODSH on the doors in your stateroom. Attach the ODSH to a hanger and then hang it on the robe hook outside the bathroom. We use it to hold extra toiletries, hairbrushes, cameras, sunscreen, etc in the pockets of the ODSH.

Power Strips
We bring a power strip to charge phones, tablets, cameras, electric razors, etc. They only give you one double outlet at the vanity. The wave phone plug covers both outlets.

Magnetic Door Signs
As you navigate down the hallways of the ship, all the stateroom doors look the same. To distinguish your stateroom, people add magnetic signs to their stateroom door to make it easier to locate your cabin. Do not use tape, command hooks, etc because they will damage the doors and DCL will fine you $100. You can only use magnets.

DCL app
DCL has an app available for your smartphone that includes the Navigator (daily schedule of activities), deck plans of the ship, menus from the restaurants, etc. Because the cost of data on the ship is high, you should download/install the app before you board the ship. Once onboard, you can use the app without using data.

Room Service
Room Service is generally free except for sodas, beer, candy and maybe a few other things. We like the cheese plate, cookies and mickey ice cream bars. Even though the food is free, it's appropriate to tip the room service attendant. We bring several single dollar bills with us to tip.

Movies
DCL has a movie theatre onboard. They show Disney movies including Pixar and Marvel. Avengers (releases on May 1) should be available at the Buena Vista movie theatre. The movie "Tomorrowland" is scheduled to be released on May 22. They might show the movie at the Walt Disney Theatre on the day the movie comes out.

Kid's Clubs
If you have kids, you can use the time after you check in and while you are waiting to board the ship to sign up for the Kid's Clubs. Even if your kids say they don't want to go, sign them up anyway. It'll save time when you're on the ship in case they change their mind. Also, encourage them to try it. There are many fun activities and chances are, they'll love it and want to spend more time there than you expect.

Enjoy your cruise

Hi all,
We are coming with you as well! It's me, Mr. Mom (Kell) DW Kim and DD Savannah 6y.o.

This is our third Disney cruise. A five night Dream cruise then last years 15 night WB Panama Canal cruise. We really like the Wonder and our DD is looking forward to a few more kids in the club.

We will definitely be joining the F.E. Our DD thinks it's the reason you go on a cruise. And on the subject of the F.E. after reading a prior post I would kindly suggest you keep your F.E. up the entire time. I am quite sure you will find daily little "somethings".

Looking forward to it!

Kell

Hello

Our family would like to join the FE.

Number of Children: 2 both boys

Is anyone else taking the Amtrak from Vancouver to Seattle before flying home? We are made it much cheaper.

We also have a flight leaving from Seattle. We looked into taking Amtrak from Vancouver to Seattle but have decided on taking Quick Shuttle. Quick Shuttle goes right from the port to the Seattle airport.

We are spending 1 1/2 days in Vancouver. Taking the train and spending 2 days in Seattle. We do not fly home until Wednesday. Figured the train ride would be cool.

DL DCA fans... what is this Quick Shuttle you speak of? Do you have more info? We are flying out of Seattle on 5/27.... any info you have to offer would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a link to the Quick Shuttle website.
www.quickcoach.com
I don't know why it is called Quick Shuttle but the website is called quickcoach.

They have not released the spring/summer schedules yet. I was told the schedule will be released at the end of March. Last years schedule shows they have a nonstop bus leaving at 9:00am from Canada Place (cruise ship port) to Seattle Airport. Hopefully, they will have the same schedule as last years.
