Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

Ok stop the presses... I'm on hold with DCL right now and she's running up the line to a supervisor... she said EVERYONE on the cruise is listed under the same dining rotation, so that means if you were told Animator's, that's not necessarily the case. So far, those of you that have posted that you've gotten your rotation have mentioned Animator's...so there might be a glitch to this!

Okay, the rep I spoke to said that the info in the computer is incorrect so if you were told it was a certain restaurant, that is not the case. She said nobody have been assigned to a rotation yet but that it is the same restaurant for both nights.

Maybe she was making up the story so that nobody else would call in to get their rotation, I don't know... Seems weird that they really wouldn't know the rotation even though they know it's the same rest. both nights.

I don't really care which one we get - I just wanted to know ahead of time if possible...

Ugggghhh!!! That's a bummer!!!! I'll take Animator's or Triton..... for me Parrot Cay is just OK.

Any chance everyone is showing up as the same because they haven't figured out the rotations yet and all this worry is for naught? Here's to hoping!

Interesting...

Typical DCL, no one really knows exactly what is going on. I suspect that if 10 of us call, there will be about 6 different answers.

Lots of Truth to that. I've been around these boards long enough to know that the rumor mill runs about as rampant at Disney as on these boards.

If there's no show at Animator's I know my wife will prefer either of the other two to it. She's never really liked that dining room.

Haha....i'm so cheap, we love watching movies and specifically didn't watch these movies in the theater coz i know they'll show these on the ship.

logical.

Hi All

What time do they start boarding?
I haven't picked up my travel docs yet so maybe it says in there.
And am I correct that we have to be on board by 4PM?
Normally I would want to be there the second they open up but my son has finals that day that end at 12:20 and it's an hour to the port and I am wondering if we can swing that.

Worse case scenario he can skip the finals and retake them the first of the next week, but I REALLY don't want him to have to do that. Usually the finals are the next week but for some reason they moved them up a week.

As long as you don't hit too much traffic, I think that you'll be fine. Do you online checkin to minimize what needs to be done at the port.

Has A Little Pizzie Duster left for her transatlantic yet?

This is so exciting :cool1::cool1:

A little bummed about all this dinner rotation concern. I don't want to go to the same restaurant 2 nights in a row! :sad2:
Is this because this is just a little 2 day jaunt? Is this the type of attitude the staff will have on the ship?

I was already dealing with there would be only 2 restaurant rotations and I would just let it be. :wizard:

Well, at least I won't feel obligated to dine in the dining rooms. My DD12 and I will do what we want and tip accordingly! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I believe that she left yesterday.

Just got off the phone with Disney Concierge, I was told it was a rumor saying we are in the same restaurant both nights. Our reservations show us in AP (as a request) and Triton. She said they recieved an email regarding the rotation confussion. The trip will be all casual wear except for Palo. There will be tours on the ship that can be signed up for when you get onboard. Those on concierge level will be directed to the desk when boarding so that they can have first choose at those. I guess we will have to wait until we are there to see what is really going on.

Good news! :thumbsup2

Don't laugh......for the past week or so a friend of mine has been checking frequently, trying to book on our cruise. Do you think there is any chance? Of course I had a SPH room reserved for her back in April that she let go! If you have a tip, it would be greatly appreciated!:goodvibes

That is Good News! Actually, if true... It makes my day. I want to sign up for a tour. I'll have to make that a priority.

Talk about kicking oneself!

Here is the list:
  • Oceans
  • Toy Story 3D
  • Sorcerer's Apprentice
  • Step Up (3D I am assuming)
  • You Again
  • Secretariat
  • Tangled
  • Tron Legacy

Do you think they'll show Tangled in 3D. We saw the regular version in the theatres already, but I was hoping to get to see it in 3D, especially the lantern scene.

Also, is anyone here familiar with dining options near the Doubletree in San Pedro? We're flying in the day before and booked their Fly and Cruise package, so our breakfast the day of the cruise is taken care of at the hotel, but we'll need someplace to eat dinner the night before. We won't have a car, but the hotel has a complimentary shuttle to anywhere within a 5 miles radius.

Any ideas besides calling everyday? We have done two Disney Cruises and are trying the DREAM this summer, July 1, sailing...hard to wait! lol:yay:

We are at the Crowne Plaza and need to figure out dinner too. No idea what, though. Anyone else staying in San Pedro the night before? Maybe we can all meet up for dinner somewhere and start the party early :)

Is it possible to get a link to the "Cruise to Neverland" graphic? I'd like to make t-shirts for my SIL and nieces who are on the cruise.

Thanks,

Kris

Just peeking at the port website... and found the pic from the last time the Magic was here. Do you think we might get a grand sendoff on ours since it's the first time the Wonder will be leaving the port?

http://www.pcsterminals.com/ (there's more than one photo that pops up, so keep refreshing till you see the Magic).

Any clues on how to print the cruise graphic as a magnet? I am printing the ones I have and the resolution is horrible. Maybe the ones I save are just signature sized. Could some post or PM me a high res one?

Thanks.
