Hi all,

Happy New Year! I am so excited that this cruise is almost here!! It's under 3 weeks. We finally got our GTY assignment (5B to 5B). We are looking forward to seeing the Wonder for the first time ever. :banana:

I am absolutely disappointed that there isn't a dining rotation! That is one of the things that makes Disney neat-different dining venues. And nobody can deny that dining is a huge part of cruising. I know, I know, that we are all lucky to be on the boat, but I don't think that is fair at all. I will be calling for an explanation. Still excited, though, just surprised and let down.....

Hi everyone! Just joinining this cruise thread. Just booked this cruise a couple of weeks ago. So looking forward to it. Just sent my Mom and Dad off to Florida yesterday, so they can go on the P.C. cruise this week. So was excitied to get them sent off because we will be on the boat after them. I saw that cruise bracelet bands were still available and I would like to purchase 2 of them. My husband and I will be going on this cruise. Pete and Genny Bigley. Can't wait to meet everyone. Let us know what you find out. I know I'm probably going to write a letter. Being our first Disney cruise, I wanted to get the full experience. It's bad enough that we're not getting a Pirate night and fireworks, now we only get to see 1 restaurant? Had I known this before, I would have canceled. Even if it meant losing my deposit. At least I would have gotten the other $700 back.

We're delighted to meet you !!!

I called today and told the CM I had heard there wouldn't be a dining rotation and I wanted to put in a request to be seated in Animator's Palate. She looked it up, and, sure enough, it seems like we'll be in the same dining room both nights. Crossing my fingers I get my request fulfilled.

I had a few other questions and when I told her this was my first cruise, she said "Well, you've certainly done your homework." Of course, I had to give credit to the Disboards. Without you, I wouldn't have even known about this cruise! So, thanks! :goodvibes

As previously posted - I have been informed that there will not be a rotation (so I am guessing no actual Animator's show either maybe?) It is cruise casual both nights.[/QUOTE]

A Little Pixie Dust- Did they give you any explanation as to why? Have a wonderful Panama Canal cruise!

I called last Thursday to link a couple of reservations to mine and i was also gonna request for Animator's after reading here that there would be no dining rotation, but the CM that i talked to said that its not possible to request a certain dining room since they are still in the process of figuring out what they're gonna do. Not sure if i talked to a newbie CM. All of my family and friends whose sailing with us are all first timers and i really want them to experience Animator's.

Pretty Doggone bummed about the lack of rotation. No biggie for me or my family, but I was hoping that some of the DCL newbies that I'll have with me could experience some of the different rooms. Here's to hoping I get Tritons now.

Welcome~ :grouphug::cheer2:

Regarding the dining rotation...well, at least it helps me with my cruise plans. If my DD12 is having too much fun with friends in the club I won't make her eat with me. I'm sure I'll be visiting the buffet for dinner ;) Or room service :rotfl:

I sent a memo with our cabin number!

Somehow I missed your cabin number - send it to me again (I hope you can by Tuesday night!)

Hey! Hey! I finally outposted myself. I can finally put that old screen name behind me.

Lil Pixie Dust still has me in the rear view mirror though.

You will pass me by since I won't be posting on here from the ship except hopefully about arrival time. I do have a trip report though.

A Little Pizzie Dust: Safe travels....I'm so excited for you!!!! Can't wait to meet you! Will be looking for any posts from you during your trip!

Thank you for everything you have done - the Fish Exchanger - everything!
:grouphug::grouphug:

Thank you!

Just be aware..even if you are put into Animator's they may not be doing the show - they had not yet decided yet so it isn't set in stone but be prepared for the possibility.

Not officially - when I called in to book a cabin for a client - I asked. I think just basically the 2 night has them stumped. They can not put everyone through the rotation and so decided it was easier to have everyone stay put. I am sorry for those of you who this is your first cruise. But I do understand that it is logistically difficult.

Basically - they just can't do everything they normally do I guess. I hope everyone has a wonderful time. I look forward to meeting everyone - I should be back in the cabin by 7:30 PM...open house..stop on by!

We leave Tuesday morning and are so excited! :banana:

how do we know about the no fireworks, was it posted somewhere? bummer, i loved the fireworks!!! but i still will have a great time!!!

also got the wristbands-they are cute!

I'm betting that they won't do the restaurant specific menus (or 'shows'), but will chose two of the themed menus and will be serving the same thing in all three restaurants...that also just seems simpler for them to do.

.

Just spoke to a supervisor at DCL...this was the first he had heard of the (no)dining rotations. He had no other information, or reason to give for the decision. He said he would pass along the concern to the dining department. He also- as we know- suggested that we call with a dining room request, if we had one. With regard to the "shows" in the dining rooms, he said he had no further information, though the previous cast member said they would take place once, probably on the last night. Not sure we can count on that information, though. Not really any solid information, but I thought I'd share.

If anyone else is disappointed, I'd suggest you call and respectfully share your disappointment with a supervisor.

I'll need to do that tomorrow. But you're right it needs to be done respectfully. I'll have to find out who to call. At the very least I'd like to make a dining room request.

May I ask what board you guys frequent? I'm always looking for more Disney boards to read. :wizard:

not sure if we're allowed to talk about other boards but here goes, not so much anymore, but mouseplanet and micechat were my other boards besides here, sometimes laughingplace, but usually only when someone on one of my other boards mentioned something from it

I have a question....

My husband will be picking us up at the terminal on Sunday. What time should I give him...what is the LATEST that I have to be escorted off the ship :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think the cruise docs said everyone had to be off by 9:30am. I thought that was strange since they usually want us off much earlier.

How fitting that you posted a picture of Tokyo Disney. I just started researching going back next December. This is almost like a sign or confirmation or something. Maybe I should go ahead and book it.
