Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

Guess I will officially check in for this cruise now. It was up in the air until the last minute. My son just started a new school and they are very strict about missing days. I just got the permission to take him out on Friday, so I gave my TA (:wave2: Des) the go ahead to PIF.

It will be myself and my DS15. This will be my 4th Disney cruise and his 3rd. We've never been on the Wonder, so looking forward to finding the small differences between her and the Magic. I looked through the roll call and recognize a few names, looking forward to seeing some old friends again.

Curious... really - a PENNY?

Good thing I checked on my reservation yesterday. It showed that I still owed 1 cent :scared1: Weird. So I called and corrected the issue before my reservation was canceled for not being paid off. I can also confirm that they still dont know what dining rotations will be. They said theyve been getting a lot of calls this weekend for people trying to book the cruise.

I also noticed as of yesterday night, there were no more Palo reservations available.

So happy I booked right when they came out

I know someone who has been trying to book this cruise, too. I even had a couple of staterooms to give to her. But, when we tried to rebook them in her name, they were instantly snapped up!!. I think that she is still trying. I hope that she and everyone else who is trying to book this cruise is successful. Thanks for the congrats!!!

I'm not surprised that any canceled cabins get instantly sold to someone on a secret waiting list at DCL.... SO ... if you're not careful someone else who's a step ahead will simply "eat your lunch" ... so to speak!

Still gathering names (and hoping to see if someone has that info for the company that does the Mickey head icon on the wristbands). I will have everyone send a self-addressed stamped envelope along with payment before the cruise. I'll PM everyone when we're ready to roll.... I hope to have everything in place by later this month. Thanks!

I was wondering a bit about this too - and now that I know - may I offer ....

thanks.gif

Unfortunately, I have no yet heard back from her. you should probably go ahead and use the company you had in the past.

I put a hold on a 5B cabin today room# 6084 and I wasn't on any kind of waiting list. :confused3 We're still debating (- it's complicated) so this room might go back into the pool if we don't pay for it tomorrow.

I noticed a CAT 4 last night....they are popping up as the reminder noticed for late payments have gone out - although that won't last for long....I am just glad I have my cabin....now..if I just knew which lifeboat I was sleeping in for the PC - I would be much happier!

I was casually checking for a friend who wants to join our sailing - and at 3:25PM PST there was a cat 00T cabin - a concierge 1 bedroom - the rate for a family of 4 with one 5 year old and an under age 1 baby is $2622.72. My friend is considering this as thier first cruise ever - and they're encouraged to join with the other 14 families in my group... however, they want to spend less than $2600 for 2 nights. I'll just keep checking for them....

I did check with a TA today... they said there's a waiting list for concierge level cabins only. So anything else is sold through the online system or to whom-ever checks in the minutes after a cabin re-enters the system... so it seems it's a matter of being LUCKY to get a cabin of the type you want at this stage...

Yeah... I kno... I even picked up lunch which was about that too... so at lunch I walked my buddy over to a TA who was conveninetly walking distance from the restuarant - and we tried to book the cruise on the spot for him - and he balked at the 2600+ price ... especially since he knew I was paying less. Of course, I reminded him I did not have a 614 sq foot concierge level 1 bedroom suite for my lower priced rate.

So try as I might he asked we look for something a little less. Maybe a lot less. He makes good money - as he drives that big $100,000+ Black BMW too... but he also has a brand new baby too to budget for. So... he's being judicious about the aVERAGE daily cost of his first cruise experience. I guess I should not blame him since I am a bit of a frugal skin flint too!

I know we were lucky to get that 5B cabin, but unfortunately I did have to give it up afterall so I wish we could be sailing with you all, but it's not meant to be this time. :sad1: Anyway someone else has already snatched cabin #6084 & I hope they have a fantastic time as I hope all of you do. Happy Sailing!

What is he looking for exactly? a CAT4? I can watch for him if you want- what about the TA you used for your cabins?

Sharon,

I'm sure I share the same thoughts of all (or most) that we'll certainly miss your family on this sailing. As I understood it you were the one who was going to pick up all our on board bills? Ahhh... if I'm mistaken then please forgive me. All kidding around aside - may I submit the Wonder is not going anywhere (except in circles) so there is always tomorrow for another cruise when it properly fits into your schedule. As much as I'd like to sail more often with the Mouse - I only go every so often.

May I bid thee a brief but fond and cordial farewell - until our paths cross again on the DIS or aboard ship!? Please consider my squirrel playing the "blues" as a polite and friendly gesture of sorrow...
