Wonder - January 21, 2011 The Cruise To Nowhere In Particular..

I considered downgrading to the Cat 5 but looked up my original payment and it turned out to be a difference of only $30 for the cat 4 that we're in, so no thanks :) That OOT would be nice, though!

Way cool! I'll have to check them out. Skylight I'll probably just sit tight with my cat 11 for this one

OK... Friends and Neighbors...
It's time for another edition of the ...

7 Question Game!
thumbs_up.gif

So we might get to know one another a little better - find some common ground and or interests - and spark some freindly conversation!

As usual, this is really just an ICE BREAKING game - and any question may be skipped if so desired - and if you have MORE then one answer and you're feeling enthusiastic - please feel free to answer with more then the minimum! Remember - this is just a silly exercise in GOOD CHEER!

I've set it up so if you quote or copy the Qs below - you can just edit in your answers on the " -> " arrow - and your answers will be easy to differentiate in color!

1). What are your FAVORITE Disney Characters / or Disney Movies?
My Reply ->

2.) What is your FAVORITE Disney Cruise dish?
My Reply ->

3.) If you could choose WHERE a Disney Ship sailed for 14 Nights - AND get a free Concierge level suite with a nice selection of shore excursions + ship board service prepaid! In other words - control a nice all inclusive Disney Cruise ... WHERE in the world would you send it? Please feel free to add what ever level of detail your heart desires!
My Reply ->

4.) What is your FAVORITE COLOR?
My Reply ->

5.) What are your FAVORITE magazines or print publications?
My Reply ->

So ... Thanks for entertaining our little exercise of whimsy here! I will post my replies to these questions later today or tomorrow... And tomorrow I'll be shooting tons of pictures of my girls at thier soccer games!

Dear Lapdwife,

Hey, I "just" (an hour ago) saw a billboard in SF saying Disneyland started Christmas decoration just today. :santa:

I hope you enjoyed that.

We are too, off to Disneyland in a week.

-Ayumi :grouphug:

Have fun! I posted a few pics (took 128) on the Christmas thread of the Disneyland board. We went just to see the tree and the first run of the parade. It was crowded so I'm glad the little guy was OK with no rides.

We just went to see the holiday fireworks and snow on Main Street. Never made it further then the Fruit Cart on Main Street. Afterward we went across the way see the new Tron encore to World of Color. Very cool.

I was there tonight too. We were next to the Christmas tree. Loved the fireworks. I liked ElecTRONica too. I'm going to try to see WOC tomorrow.

1). What are your FAVORITE Disney Characters / or Disney Movies?
My Reply -> Love the big cheese. Eeyore is a favorite too. Movies - I like most of the Pixar ones, except Bug's Life isn't so funny to me.

2.) What is your FAVORITE Disney Cruise dish?
My Reply -> Palo chocolate souffle. Anything from the Palo brunch!

My Reply -> Mediterranean - the side with Greece and Italy.

4.) What is your FAVORITE COLOR?
My Reply -> I like and wear almost all colors. But I do own alot of black - not necessarily my favorite. Just the most versatile and slimming :)

5.) What are your FAVORITE magazines or print publications?
My Reply -> Food Network Magazine, Rachael Ray... I like food!

6.) Do you have any particular EXPERIENCE from a CRUISE which was an especially memorable, favorite or special memory? What comes to mind?
My Reply -> On our first cruise, my husband had to go pick up my son from the club and on his way back to the dining room, they ran into Stitch alone, who was on his way somewhere. My son and Stitch got to skip all the way down the hall. Nick was only 5 at the time and it was magical.

7.) Do you have any PETS? If not - then what would you LIKE to have if you could have ANY pet?
My Reply ->
We have 2 - a German Shepherd named EJ and a Yellow Lab named Dug.

1). What are your FAVORITE Disney Characters / or Disney Movies?
My Reply ->baloo, one cool bear.

2.) What is your FAVORITE Disney Cruise dish?
My Reply ->dunno, once eaten it's usually forgotten. I'm more likely to remember the stuff I don't like.

My Reply ->baltics!

4.) What is your FAVORITE COLOR?
My Reply ->blue

5.) What are your FAVORITE magazines or print publications?
My Reply ->PC Gamer

6.) Do you have any particular EXPERIENCE from a CRUISE which was an especially memorable, favorite or special memory? What comes to mind?
My Reply ->the joy on my son's face when he realized that he could just walk up to a counter And they'll give him a pizza FREE! Priceless.

7.) Do you have any PETS? If not - then what would you LIKE to have if you could have ANY pet?
My Reply ->no pets. Like to have a dog but have no time for it.

Hi all

We are all paid up and really excited to be joining you all.

Especially since it was such an ordeal to get this cruise, but thats another story!

I keep forgetting to check over here and keep in touch!

I have only been logging on to post my Disney Sunday Blog on the community board so I have to remember to come here during the week!

Is there a list of who's going?
It's probably posted somewhere and I am just missing it!

The past couple of days our older daughter was in AYSO (Soccer) playoff games - and they won yesterdays game in a double "sudden death" shoot out! By that - I mean thier game was initially TIE scored - so they lined up 5 players and each shot 5 attempts on goal to see who could score the most (That's the "Sudden Death" tie breaking shoot out!)! And after the first round it was tie scored again! Until the 2nd round where we emerged the winner!

Then in thier 2nd round playoff game - they went against an UNDEFEATED team (our season record was 4th best among 22 teams with a 5-3-0 record ... and the teams in 1st through 3rd were all undefeated!). And in todays game we shut out the undefeated team 2-0 ... with my daughter shooting the initial "winning" goal... a high looping shot from 3/4 off center. The 2nd goal was scored when in the final 5 minutes the opposing team pulled thier goalie out to try and add pressure on us - and we broke away and knocked another goal in!

SO next weekend we are off to round 3 in the playoffs - and at the end of the game today the manager of a Soccer club team had a chat with me - inviting us to come practice with thier team - to possibly join? Club teams are the next step up in intensity and - I guess they seem to cost a bit more to get involved in. I know our girls played really well today - but in particular my daughter played a HOT game. I also gave her an incentive of $100 for every goal she could score. I knew it would be extra tough against an undeated team! WHo would have guessed - that I had to pay up and even came close to having to pay for TWO goals - as she nearly scored a 2nd time!

This weekend has been a wonderfully entertaining with our kids and thier soccer!!

I LOVE THIS! I loved reading your post. My DD12 plays AYSO too (Rancho Santa Margarita). I've never heard of Sudden Death....that was so exciting to read! What a great week end for your daughter and her team mates. I love to be the underdog. :woohoo: How crazy you must have been cheering! :cheer2:

Good luck next week end! My DS18 is in CIF playoffs! It's so crazy. If he loses it's his LAST high school football game. :hug: Then onto track :rotfl2:

Thank You for your encouraging thoughts! I can imagine there are some folks maybe wonding if there's something a bit odd about that Captain Crash fellow with the soccer thing - not to mention the odd ball animations and other eccentric oddness with sci-fi and so on ... but my spouse and I were engaged in "pillow talk" about how the weekend had been for our girls - and we were just basking in how HAPPY they both were - not to mention how happy all the parents were on our team! After todays game we had frozen yogurt with one of our daughters' team mates - the only one who is from her same school - and we were talking non-stop in the yogurt shop about the games - our kids - and all sorts of stuff semi-related to that central common experience of the past day and past few hours! The Mom of the our friends was remarking she had planned on coming to the game and just quietly watching what all the excitement was about - and in the end she found herself screaming and jumping up and down over the whole thing! How totally CHARMING that was - as it was so true about her always otherwise being so ... "calm" and steady a personality!

What a hoot, eh?

I might add - the losing team today - it had 2 players whom we had coached in years past! They knew us well - and before the game began they came over to visit and I casually remarked - how we KNEW they were undefeated - and we had a more down to earth record with losses. They were very nice about it - and as we parted the one grandmom was joking with us she would like to wish us good luck but she couldn't very well do that and expect to win... and I sort of silently felt - "yeah, I know - we're probably gonna have our playoff run end today ... and that well - if so - then that's how it will be"... and I felt nothing bad. But I was mildly HOPEFUL but prepared for a loss. What a wonderful surprise - twice in two days! I could end this year now and say it was a fabulous year now!

It didn't help that her husband was embarassing her the whole time she was so out of character at the game too... it was all so hilarious and nerve wracking at the same time! :laughing:
