This day started with breakfast at Beach Blanket. After that we headed down to Wavebands to get ready to disembark and go to Nassau. We turned in the necessary forms, got towels, etc. DH saw a nice pair of sunglasses alone on a table and asked the next table about them and the woman SNAPPED at him "yes they are ours, they are in line!!!" DH did not want the sunglasses, he has his own, he didn't want someone forgetting theirs. We took a walk through the hot sun of Nassau to get on the boat. The hair braiders wanted my girls' business and kept telling me who to ask for when we came back, but I had already decided if they did want braids we would do it on the Wonder.
We boarded the ferry for Blue Lagoon. I passed by a table on the first deck and went up to the second--no tables left. I grabbed 3 chairs (DD#2 and DH had decided to sit on top) and we made ourselves comfortable. It was nice to have a band and everything on board, although we missed a lot of that fun by being on deck 2. It was about a 40 minute ride past gorgeous homes that I could never ever afford! When we got to the island I walked towards the back and got two hammocks and a table. DD#1 headed to the closest beach but it was a snorkeling area with no swimming allowed. We then hit the other beach closer to where we disembarked. The photographers on the island were in your face a LOT. I now have a picture of my size 14 self on a float in the ocean--but at a decent angle so I don't look like a complete whale. We played around in the lagoon for about an hour, then went back to get lunch. We were one of the earlier families and our stuff was close to the lunch place. It was standard fare but the "loaded" punch was good. The seagulls were crazy--one boy left his lunch to get his drink and goodbye hamburger! I just hope he didn't eat anything because the gulls were all over it. After lunch DH, DD#2 and DS fell asleep in a hammock and DD#1 and I looked around a little and found our pictures. We took the 2PM ferry back and it looked like 80% of the people did the same. It poured for about 5 minutes while we were waiting to leave (OK because we were on deck 2 again) but that was the only rain we saw the whole trip.
DH and I talked about going back into Nassau to shop after we got back on the boat, but I wanted to take a shower and the kids went into the clubs and time got away from us. Our dinner was in Tritons that night. DH had finally bought a sportcoat, but we realized at the last minute we didn't have a suit bag so we saved it for next year. At Tritons I had a grape crush to drink (Gavin did an awesome job recommending drinks), the shrimp medley appetizer and the garlic roasted herb tenderloin. It was all good, but it was eclipsed by the grand marnier souffle w/ chocolate sauce. Alun told me to just make a hole in the top and pour the sauce into it--scrumptious!!!!
After dinner Alun asked what our plans were for the evening and I told him we were going to hop into Nassau and shop, because I had wanted to at least hit the Hard Rock for a pin and Del Sol. he told me the shops close at 6PM! Whoops! DH and I put the kids back in the clubs and looked at our Shutters photos, then generally bummed around and had some private time. We checked on the girls once and they were having a ball--DD#1 has at least 6 EMails from other kids from this experience and DD#2 has an address for a new best friend from California. DH and I went to the sailaway party and I videotaped some of it. It was a lot of fun. We had a couple of desserts from the dessert buffet. When we went to get the kids DS was fast asleep, as were most of the 5-7 group. Their day always ends with Disney movies and it works like taking a sleeping pill, I guess. They have tons of little sleep mats set up. DS had a lot of fun that day with the "So you want to be a Pirate" activity, and now knows how to keep Captain Hook away. Everyone was out by midnight.
