Wolfgang Puck Cafe Lately?

Not sure how up to date this reply is but we went in October last year and.....I'm really sorry to say, that after 7 visits to WDW we decided to got to Wolfgang Puck Cafe as we were on honeymoon and i'd always wanted to go, and was really disappointed!!

I found the table area quite messy, It took forever for our drinks order to come. The waiting staff took our order for starters then left, 5 minutes later they came back for entree order. The starters arrived and DHs looked kinda burnt (cant remember what is was). halfway through the starters the entree arrived. we then moved on to the entrees and we were halfway through that before they cleared the starter plates. Our DD6 had the artist pallette sundae, which she enjoyed.

With 2 glasses of wine the bill was $110.

Our favourite TS is Le Cellier (and I'm a vegeterian)!!!!

DH and I, along with two others, had dinner at WPC on December 13th. DH had the BBQ quesadilla and 2 of us had the spring rolls, and the final member of our party had a salad. We thought the spring rolls were good, but all of us agreed that the quesadilla was the best.

For entrees, DH had the shrimp and scallop pasta dish which he thought was delicious. I had the salmon which was good. One person had the ravioli, which she really enjoyed. The final member of our party had the wolf steak, which she did not like. To be fair, the server suggested that she order something else.

I can't remember all of the desserts, but I had the carrot cake, which was out of this world.

The service was fine, not too fast or too slow. The server was knowledgable about the menu and answered all questions honestly. The restaurant was loud, but I was prepared for that due to the reviews I had read here.

I think any place can have an "off" night. We had a horrible experience, meal and service, at Tony's and swore we wouldn't return, but I have read posts saying others loved it there.

sorry! forgot to post what we got, DH got BBQ chick Quesedila (i think) to start and i had spinach and five cheese dip, DH had roasted chicken with mashed potatoes (the chicken was a full bird, may too much) but hey I'm a veggie!

I had three cheese ravioli - sauce was not disimiliar to marinara sauce anywhere in WDW!!

tiramasu, choc fondue were main attractions!

We went this past August and the food was great. The people working at the front are rude and not really with it, but the servers were very nice. We waited forever. Finally our beeper went off and they couldn't find the reservation. The hostess actually asked me "how did I get a beeper". I told her you gave it to me when I checked in. She said, "Are you sure"? Well, anyway another group was going to be seated and I said we have been waiting and would like to be seated. They finally gave us a table (very nice with a water view). All our dishes were wonderful. We had the BBQ chicken quesdilla, egg rolls, spinach dip, Filet Mignon (so so good), ravioli, meatloaf. We were too full to try the dessert.

Hi OKWMom,

I agree any place can have an off night, as i said Le Cellier turned put to be our best experience, but the start of night was awful, waited 55 mins after our res time. seated for 15 mins b4 anyone took any order, then after drinks order, 20 mins had paast b4 they brought breadsticks and drinks - then 10 minutes later our server came up and sincerely apologized as she was having a really bad night, and then came and sat with us after dinner, brought a "wedding" cake (honeymoon) and a card signed by all the servers in Le Cellier (as a lot have family in Scotland). made a bad night wonderful!! I really wanted to love Wolfgang Pucks, as or years I had "hyped"it up for myself and in reality it was just OK!!!

We were there on Dec 19th.

I had the artichoke/5 cheese dip and the Grandma Puck's Bolognese - both really good.

The kids had the Wolf-fredo Fettuccine and caesar salads and gave it the thumbs up.

My friend had one of the pizzas and said it was delicious.

For dessert we split the white chocolate cheesecake and the kids had the make your own sundaes.

The food was really good, but our waiter was kind of strange and not overly friendly.

I totally understand. We went to Jiko on this past trip and had told DH it had a reputation for being one of the best restaurants at WDW. I was really looking forward to our dinner there and we had a really bad experience there. After our dinner, I can't imagine anyone else actually liking that place. Our server was actually rude and seems that he thought we were beneath him somehow. He responded disdainfully to any menu question we had and he was in general, snotty. Our food was underwhelming, to say the least, and we left shaking our heads. We were also glad to get to Le Cellier the following night for a wonderful dinner with wonderful service.

I wasn't in any way trying to undermine your post or belittle your opinion. I sincerely hope I did not offend you as that was most certainly not my intent.

I love the food at Wolfgang Puck's :thumbsup2 I've never had a bad meal there. And the express location is really good too!

I have to say I was VERY disappointed - because I had looked forward to eating there for weeks.
We ate there Dec 15 and did not enjoy our meal.
I had the weinerschnitzel and it was tough, rubbery, and really bad. My daugher did not enjoy her chicken, either. Dessert was ok - but we had better at the counter service restaurants at the parks.
Also, my daugther told me after we left that it was really loud (noisy) and she was correct. When we stepped outside, I was amazed how quite it was outside the restaurant as compared to the inside.
It will not be on our list of places to dine during future trips to DW.

Anyone been to WPC lately if so how was it? And what did you get?:thumbsup2

We had dinner at WPC twice in early December. My family ordered the BBQ chicken quesadilla, crab cakes, Wolf's Steak, weinerschnitzel, kid's pepperoni pizza, flourless chocolate cake, and key lime pie. Everything was good, particularly the crab cakes, weinerschnitzel, and chocolate cake.

The fondue was not on the menu at that time.

Both servers were good: they knew the menu, made suggestions, and answered questions honestly.

The first dinner was better than the second (different cooks in the kitchen, I guess), but we enjoyed both.

I had dinner there on December 4. I had an appetizer salad followed by pumpkin ravioli. The pumpkin ravioli is now one of my top favorite WDW entrees! There are pine nuts, brown butter sauce, and parmesan with it. If anyone has a link to the recipe, please let me know!

BTW, I sat in the bar area. I had a reservation and I arrived about 15 minutes early, but they said there was a wait for seating in the dining area even with a reservation, while I could sit at the counter in the bar area with no waiting. Since there was no smoking in the bar, I decided that was fine, but there would have been a better view from the dining area.

I really like wpc., i was there in august and november. We all had good service and great food both times. I got the sushi in nov., very good.

:flower3: OKWMom, Oh my goodness! you didnt offend me in the slightest!! I was only saying that I was really disappointed in WPC, when I really wanted to like it, i reaaly like to hear other opinions on the things I liked or disliked, to see if it was just me!!!! You said that you thought your server in Jiko was rude, didnt you find that a lot on your last trip? I felt in a few places (especially WPC) they were looking down on you, i think the DDP has annoyed the servers, they dont have to try as hard for their tips!! :wave2:
