My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 young children) are planning to see WOC on Tues., Sept.22. The show is at 8:15 and is the only one that night. We plan to use a regular FP.
From reading through some of the WOC superthread, I've learned that I need to line up 90 min. prior to showtime for the best shot at a good view. I also read that I cannot save spots and expect my family to join me closer to showtime.

My questions:
1) Once, in line at the 90 min. mark, can my husband and a child leave the line to go get dinner? I *think* the viewing area opens up about one hour prior to the show. Would it be easy for him to rejoin us in line as long as he is back before the viewing area opens?

2) Can we bring our stroller to our spots? Will we be able to get to an optimal spot with it? If not, where do we leave it?

3) We hope to get a yellow FP. Anyone know the approximate time those are currently distributed and when they are likely to run out?

Planning for this show is stressing me out! I've read that it can be difficult to get a good viewing spot, so I know to go early. However; a 90 min. wait with 3 LO's sounds challenging!

Thank you!

1. We've never had a problem with this. Just make sure that those around you in line know they are returning to you, not line cutting. And we've been able to save spots (a small number, not a huge area!) in the viewing area. For example, DH can save our spots while I take the kids to the restroom or to get a drink.

2. Yes, you can bring your stroller with you.

3. Ask the CM at the FP machines. Times vary according to how crowded the park is. The CM should be able to give you more accurate info. And FPs can run out during peak times, like holidays.

The 90 minute wait is to make certain you get a prime spot. The less prime your spot has to be, the less time you can wait. For example, if you are fairly tall, you can more easily slip into the back of a viewing section and still have a pretty good view of the show. I'm not tall by any means, so investing in a longer wait is crucial to my being able to see the show at all.

Yes, this is quite correct. What I mean in the WOC Superthread about not saving spots is when people want to send one person in line while the rest of the group goes on rides and then slips in 10 minutes before the show. Anyone trying to do that may have success, but they may have upset guests around them to deal with. Leaving for short times is fine. Sending someone to get some food and bringing it back would also be fine. But I as the PP says it is best if the whole group goes in first and gets the spot. Then send as few people as possible to get the food. Leaving one person to hold a spot for 5 (for example) could be hard just because of all the people kind of pushing in towards the front. Establish a location and send as few people out as possible. Sending small kids to the restroom with a parent is acceptable to most everyone. Not a bad idea to let folks close to you know they are leaving briefly for the restroom. We always plan for everyone to head to the restroom 15-20 minutes before the show in small groups.
