I was less than thrilled with our meal at Ariels the last time we went and I have heard a lot of people say they didn't enjoy WCT so this brings me to Carthay. Carthay however is very expensive and the menu items look a bit too refined for my 13 year olds pallet. So I pulled all the menus I could find for WOC and I saw that Carthay has a WOC Prix Fixe lunch menu. The Lunch menu is more reasonably priced and more to my liking as well as my sons (the adult menu for lunch has a burger as an entree option that looks perfect for a picky teen even if 44 bucks is a lot for a burger).

So has anyone had the Carthay WOC lunch? Was is good? Was it worth the price? would I be better off just making a dash to get the FP's in the morning like so many others and then eating at flo's?

I have only ever done the WOC dinner at Ariel's which I though used to be much better under the old menu.

It's the best. I've done it my last three trips and have it booked twice over 8 days at the end of the month.

Because the chef is amazing - the "weirder" the dish, the more likely I am to try it - and I've NEVER been disappointed.

Also, the view of the show is great.

Thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Now I just have to wait for those ADRs to open up.

The CCR burger is expensive, but it's the nicest burger in the parks. That said, if the CCR experience will be lost on your son, then you're better off getting FPs (they should be available for longer than you think, especially for the second show) and eating where he'll be happy.

It would surely be lost on him. Most experiences that people over the age of 10 appreciate are lost on him. He is a simple guy who most appreciates things that are simple. For instance when we go to restaurants he always orders either a cheese burger, a bean and cheese only burrito or mac and cheese. If thats not available he will get a steak...but he then dips it in ketchup and asks for a side of fresh fruit or veggie sticks and ranch. In short he eats like a 5 year old even though he is now too old for kids menus. and now that he has facial hair (seriously he is 13, and only 92 pounds but if he skips a day of shaving he gets a 5 o'clock shadow puberty had turned him into a cave man).

We do WOC dining for the good FP section. Ive never even tried to get regular FP's

I understand your pain. I have a daughter very similar, except she is an adult. The burger at CCR is a very good burger, but you will need to tell them what to leave off. It has all sorts of "stuff" on it he probably won't like.

You might also verify what is on the WOC menu as it is not the standard menu. Have you considered the Dessert party instead?

We've done the free FPs and gotten viewing right next to the CCR section (literally right next to the rope). Viewing was great and the wait wasn't too bad. If you use the free FPs, check out the map on the first page of the WOC Superthread, then scope out the viewing area earlier on the day that you will see the show. Know where to go when the CMs allow you into your section and you should be fine.
