WOC desert party

I just wanna take a moment to apologize for my emotional outburst a few pages back 😅 I’ve been so stressed about coordinating all of this, I was completely freaking out 🫣

Anyway… we got our ideal booking 😭 8pm WOC Dessert Party for 3 🎉 I can’t believe it!!!

I have our hotel, transportation, park tickets, dining, *and* WOC reservations locked in & paid for 😭 what a beautiful moment 😂

Now, just need to calm down & simply enjoy the moment when we actually arrive in about a month 😂

Kyle from Park Banquets, Banquet Support, DCA just contacted me via email a few minutes ago regarding our allergy listing for the party tomorrow night! The asked how many would require the allergy plate, This is on par with the contact we received pre-COVID and I’m happy they reached out.

Same here. We marked “other” and Kyle asked for details so they could appropriately prepare the plate, in addition to number of special plates.

We are a group of 5. 2 adults and three kids, ages 5, 7 and 9. The nine year old has a DAS for some sensory/anxiety issues. Going to try to do the dessert party, as arriving an hour ahead, and being crammed close together standing wouldn't work for her. If you have a dessert party reservation, can you show up 20 minutes ahead? They would have a table reserved for the whole group, right.? Not split us up.?

We are leaving after the show and meeting our car service at the Grand Californian. We are transferring to our Universal hotel for the last night. I'm trying to figure out time. I estimated around 9:45, is that too ambitious? I'm trying to figure out the best route. They are going to drive us around to the DLH, so I can pick up suitcase from bell services, and then continue to our hotel by Universal. Originally, we weren't going to try to see WOC, because of the crowded standing only, but once the dessert party became an option, I thought they would enjoy it.

you bring your bags to GCH? Why the extra step?

Yes, I’ve shown up around 10-15 min early. We were seated at a low table not a high top. It was fine as it was just 2 adults. Perhaps one of you can take 2 kids and get a high top table. The other can join with her closer to show time. I think that’s what I will have to do with my DAS kids. We have 6 grown ups and only the 2 kids though.

Help….
I’m only there for 2 nights (31/5 & 1/6) and they’re both Grad nights
I’ve booked WOC dessert party for 8pm 1/6 but the Disney program says there is no show times available for 1/6
Are they just slow posting the times?

We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel. On this day ( Thursday),, we will check out in the morning, and leave our bags with bell services, then enjoy the parks for the day. I thought that since the car service is picking us up anyway, it would be both closer and faster to pick up at Grand Californian after World of Color at DCA. (The youngest isn't used to staying up that late, so I know she will be slow.)
I have to stop off at DLH to get my bags, before I go.

This trip originally was just me and my oldest grandchild , but their other grandma and 2 more grandkids unexpectedly were able to join us. This last day, the plan is to do a special breakfast, rerides of favorites, souvenir shopping, photopas shots,, less go go go.
But it's still a full last day - Check out of DLH, Eat at Princess Breakfast(hopefully ) Plaza Inn second choice, we have park hoppers with DL res, so DL in morning after breakfast, probably park hopping DCA in late afternoon. Finish up with WOC.
Myself and oldest granddaughter are transferring the Hilton Hotel by Universal Hollywood and going to Universal on Friday and flying home on Sat. The other 3 are spending the night at DLH, and flying home together on Friday morning.

So we all need to get to DLH after WOC, me to get bags, and them to sleep. I figured, why not ride and avoid some of the crowds? But I've never been there, so would appreciate any insight from the people who go alot. Is it closer to get into GC from where WOC seating is, than to just finish the walk to DLH. I'm a slow walker, plus tired out kids.. I've looked at some maps, but I'm not real great with directions, and dont know where entrances/exits are.

It would be nice if GCH and DLH had some sort of agreement and I could just leave my bags at GC, but I don't think that's likely.

I feel like others have left their bags at GCH bell services. You’d have to bring them over, but that would save you time. The other 3 would then have the walk alone to the DLH.

It would be faster to walk into the GCH private hotel entrance than to go to the front of the park and back to DLH.

When you leave your bags, what do they ask you? Do you need to show a key or be in the system as a guest checking in? I can't imagine they just let random people coming to the parks leave their bags. I'll have to call and ask.

Just say I’m dropping off my bags and fly out tonight, no other explanation needed.

We plan to be at the first party tonight and will try to report back. Let me know if anyone has specific questions I should be looking for.
How many tables, their configuration, pic of your plate, what drinks are offered. Were you assigned seats prior to arriving? What time did you get there and where were you seated if not pre-assigned?

Can you just video record your experience for us? 😝 Or transport me there to join? 🤣

I'm a party of 7 and I'm assuming we'll be seated at 2 separate tables. My understanding is that they are 4 top tables, so I'm guessing 4 and 3, with the 3 potentially getting an extra 'stranger' aka Disney friend we just haven't met yet. We will probably put all 4 older kids at one table (ages 15, 12, 10, 8), and have husband and I sit with the 5 yr old, or we'll have one adult at each table. This will be our first time so I am just excited to try it out!

How exciting!!! I’m so pumped for this. I’ve only seen WOC once (my son has never seen it) and I’ve never done a dessert party.

Could you post pictures of the dessert plate, bread basket and menu?

I would like to know if they offer beer and wine in addition to champagne and a cocktail (probably not but I’m hoping!).

I’d also like to know the brand of champagne they are serving (I’ll skip it if it’s cheep champagne as that gives me the worst headache!).

Finally, I am really hoping they are offering something fun for the kids, some kind of light-up cup or something. They cost the same as adults but obviously don’t get the two alcoholic beverages so I really hope they get something else.

Have the best time!!!!

That's so exciting!

I'd like to know if they are still doing high/low tables, what they serve and if they have non alcoholic drinks, like sparkling cider or something.

Have a wonderful time! :)

Just to let you know, if you are staying at the Grand it is a nice walking distance, but from the esplanade to the DLH, a good chunk of the hotels on Harbor are a shorter walk. I'd say Mimi's cafe down to The Anaheim hotel are all shorter distance .

Got my reservation. It was pretty easy, since it wasn't on drop day and it's 60 days out. They weren't offering this the last time we saw WOC, so we did the Carthay Circle cattle call. Last trips to DLR, WOC was torn apart, so we didn't even see it.

Ooooh can’t wait to hear what you think!
We are trying to figure out if it’s worth it for my kid’s bday. If it’s just ok, I may just save the money for something else instead.
