WOC desert party

At 7:30, an unorganized mass of people milling about waiting for dessert party (or not, some people are here but not DP people).

Check-in is small brown podium opposite of Festival Merchandise booth in front of Little Mermaid.

7:52 finally a queue is organized.

7:55 the first few groups are checked in but no one is being seated. So there’s a blockage and the check-in line can’t move.

7:57 2 CMs are starting to work the line checking names and handing out wristbands. Sill no one being seated.

8:03 first part of line brought to level with tables—just to wait again while each group is brought to their table. There are about 30 tables. 2 rows. Middle of front row—8 or 9 tables— are low tables, rest are high.

Thanks so much for the live reporting! Have you observed how the tables are being assigned, ie by wrist band# or by choice? Also and it probably goes without saying but are the low tables near the railing like before? Thanks!

Yikes! I guess it’s to be expected but still.

How many seats per table?

@8:15 we were seated.

The tables were not preassigned. When we reached the assigning CM he asked if we wanted low or high. We took low and were seated with a very nice couple. Most tables had 4 chairs. Some tables were pulled together with more seats.
Thank you for sharing this! I was thinking we would ask for high since we have two kids with us. What did you think of the view from the low?

Menu (sorry these are sideways) didn’t get a chance to ask what champagne. Non-alcoholic cherry breeze was basically a Shirley Temple. Alcoholic Rainbow spritzer only available with tequila (premixed) and it was pretty strong.

Above is my allergy plate. I can’t have grapes or raisins and thought they would sub strawberries or something for grapes. Instead it was an entire fruit plate! I get the sense anyone who can’t have something on the regular plate may just get the fruit plate (I certainly could have had cheese, for example).

The view was somewhat blocked by people standing in front of us, especially when they put kids on shoulders. High tables might have had slightly better view but some high tables were behind other high tables.

Oh my gosh they have beer! I’m so excited. I wonder what kind of beer is offered. Thank you so much for sharing the menu!

So did your allergy plate not come with any desserts? Just fruit? That is more than a little disappointing for $89!

Were you happy with the view overall? And with the dessert party?

Also, did you notice if they kids got anything special like a glow cube or something?

The fruit plate looks similar to the plate I have always received in the past (but without the grapes). I request cheese with the fruit and have always received a generous serving of both.

I'm a party of 7 and I'm assuming we'll be seated at 2 separate tables. My understanding is that they are 4 top tables, so I'm guessing 4 and 3, with the 3 potentially getting an extra 'stranger' aka Disney friend we just haven't met yet. We will probably put all 4 older kids at one table (ages 15, 12, 10, 8), and have husband and I sit with the 5 yr old, or we'll have one adult at each table. This will be our first time so I am just excited to try it out!
I would seat one adult at each table, just for safety. If there were an emergency situation (highly unlikely, but still possible), having an adult right there with the kids at each table would be very helpful.

Yes, just fruit. Very delicious fruit, but nothing else. But we split that and my DH’s plate so I did get cheese and some of the desserts as well.

I was happy with the chair. The view wasn’t the greatest—but it was probably better than I would have had standing (I’m kind of short). I’m glad we did the party this time, but I won’t be in a rush to book again now that we’ve seen the show.

I didn’t see anything like glow cubes. The only glowing thing I saw was the new Elliott popcorn bucket. But there weren’t any kids around us so maybe I missed it if there was something.

The Cherry Breeze drinks they brought our table didn’t have anything special.

I saw they had two tables pulled together with 6-7 chairs. They probably can do something like that.

@sophy1996 Did you get a bread basket as well? Or just the dessert plates? And how did your companions enjoy the desserts?

No bread basket, just the dessert plate. My DH really liked all the desserts. I liked the ones I had too.
