If you had your choice, would you take a 5 night stay at WLV 1 BR or WL Concierge? We were considering selling our points for our current ressie for a WLV 1br and paying cash for a concierge stay (hopefully getting a AP rate for that too!!

What's your opinion? Ever done both? We have not stayed at WLV at all yet, DVC or otherwise. Thanks.

I've yet to try conceirge but....for us, I'd prefer having more space vs. just a hotel room. Having a king bed, jacuzzi & w/d in the room...plus with the kitchen there's really no need for the food offerings of the conceirge loung.

That said, I wouldn't mind trying conceirge some day and since we've never experienced it, I don't know how much having the "other" services (like the fact they can often get hard to get PS's and such) conceirge offers would make it worth it?!

But if I had to make that choice at the moment having not tried conceirge, I'd choose the 1bdrm for the extra space and ammenities...

We have done concierge and 1 or 2-br at DVC resorts. To me, it is nice to have all that free food around, but the comfort in a 1-br unit is much more.

I would do AKL or Poly concierge because what those resorts offer (monorail access, or the animals). Bur for other locations, especially if there are DVC resorts next to it, it is 1 or 2-br units without a doubt.

Never wanted to shell out the cash for concierge, so I am ignorant to what services they offer. Can you enlighten me and then I'll give you my opinion (whether you want it or not! :teeth: )

I seemed to have sparked quite a bit of interest regarding the WL concierge. I got my info from here, check it out!!

Under "Disney Resorts" search for the title: The New WL Faq (Part 5) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys oh my!!

It's very informative!!
Enjoy! :earsboy:

Concierge primarily gives you lots of snacks and someone to help make or change PS for you. I think it's nice but, like another poster, I'd rather have the kitchen, washer/dryer, jacuzzi, and the extra elbow room and privacy. I'll handle my own PS and buy snacks on the way in from the airport.

Hmmmm...I've done both, and liked them for different reasons. It is convenient to have the concierge check-in option, and the food was excellent - lots of snack choices and plenty for my DDs to choose from. They enjoyed being able to go and get breakfast or nightime snacks and bring them back to the room. But, on the other hand, a little shopping trip and you have some snack choices right in your own room with VWL, although not as nice as the concierge selections unless you are cooking them yourself.

Plus, the washer/dryer adn tub in the 1 BR are huge pluses for me, so....

It's a tossup!!!

Have never done concierge but love the 1 bdrooms!! Last Oct DH and I had a 1 bdroom at VWL and it was like having our own apartment for 9 days. It was great.

We've done both.

WL Concierge-it's nice to have no wait to check-in. The snacks throughout the day are nice. You get 2 beds instead of a bed and a pull out.

VWL 1br-We checked in, daughter cut her finger on the broken jacuzzi, room wasn't clean, power went out in the middle of the night triggering some alarms in our room. DH missed a triathlon that cost him $250 to enter.

We've been back to WL CL but not to the Villas. Just had a bad experience, I guess.

We own at VWL. We usually use a FL res rate for WL CL.

Goood luck with your decision.
