Aulani, OTUP and MMB

We are going to book a 1 BR Ocean view for a week at the end of February. We aren’t direct owners so we will be booking at the 7 month mark. Im going to need to call as we will need to buy the OTUP for the reservation. From looking at everything it doesn’t seem like we will have much of an issue booking our preferred room and dates, but I was hoping to get some input if it would be worth making a mock booking, buying our OTUP and canceling it so I can book online right when the window opens.

You will probably be fine. The only issue is the 7 consecutive days, but 1BD OV is highly likely to be safe.

What happens if you can't get the room? If you can still use the points than a mock booking wouldn't be a bad thing. If you wouldn't use the points then I would wait to make sure you can book the room when buying.
