We are going to the WL in august (CANT WAIT!!) if we were to get a room on the same level as the lobby, what are the view for a standard room? are there patios????? has anyone stayed at this level and not liked it??????? :confused3 wasnt sure if noise was an issue but we have a white noise machine that we are taking thanks to the advice of people in the discussion forum so it should be an issue. :cool1:

Stnd view rooms are not available at lobby level. Only woods and pool view. You will probably get a room that overlooks the delivery area and some trees. Ask for a higher floor. We sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks and the monorail.

is this with a standard view? whats the best area to ask for? IM HOPING FOR A COMPLIMENTARY upgrade and will request the first floor if at all possible but im not counting on it.

At WL, there are 3 views: Standard (parking lot, delivery area, trees); Woods (trees, pool, maybe lake); Courtyard (courtyard, falls, pools, trees, Bay Lake).

Complimentary upgrades depend on availability, but my experience with WL has been good. On our last trip there we went from Woods to Courtyard (complimentary). However, that trip was in early May and the resort was not crowded at all.

Is August usually busy? we are going the 12-17th. i thoughthe schools donw south went back to school in august. i know up here in MA. its lat aug./early sept. hoping to the large crowds but we usually go during april vaca. so it cant be worse that that!

On our last trip we stayed on lobby level in the south wing. It was actually 1 floor up from the pool. The resort slopes downward toward the lake starting at the lobby, so you could technically be on the same level as the lobby but higher than the patio rooms. We had a woods view room booked and got a complimentary upgrade to courtyard overlooking the VWL pool. It was a beautiful view. Our trip was September 9th. Not sure about how busy August would be, but I would think you would have a pretty good chance of getting an upgrade when you get there. Just ask them what they have on the lobby level, and I'm sure they will try to accommodate you. Good luck!

I don't know about August crowds; we go during Value season to avoid crowds (and the FL heat).

Can you see the fireworks from any of the junior suites at WL?

In Martin County FL school starts August 8th.

Stayed on the first floor overlooking the path to the quiet pool. (don't know what view this is, but I know we paid for standard view) It was a long way to the lobby, but not too far to the main pool. Having a patio was OK, but I think I would prefer a balcony.

I love staying in the rooms that overlook the lobby! It's so cool to leave your room and see the lobby first thing when you are on your way out. I have always stayed on the lobby and the music or restaurant have never bothered me. We always request it. :)

Our daughter's north Metro Atlanta school goes back to school on August 1. :cool1:
DH teaches in the same district and returns to work the week before that.
If we had been smart we probably should have gone to Disney during the week off they have in September, but I was afraid of getting rained or "hurricaned" out. . .

What floor were you on where you had a view of the lobby and a balcony? We are going in December and agree that it would be great to view the lobby as soon as we leave the room each day!

so if you have a room facing the lobby (no matter what floor) do you get a balcony or no. if not whats better, having the balcony or the lobby room???? so many questions! what sectin do you get a patio?
