WL - pool crashing problem

For all of you who are now trying to bash me because I described the guests I once saw checking into the GF, please go back and reread what I said.

I was not "judging" these people by the way they were dressed (although I certainly was judging their personal hygiene, I don't care who you are, you should shower more than once a month--that's a matter or not only personal hygiene but public hygiene IMHO). My point was that you CAN'T tell where someone is staying by what they are wearing. That's pretty non-judgemental if you ask me.

Then I turn around and get bashed by those on these boards who are being judgemental of my posts, when they aren't even bothering to read them and take them in the spirit they are written in, but rather try and twist my words around.

Please advise me about all my posts from now on since I am obviously a lunatic that needs somebody to tell me what I am thinking and feeling!

I don't need to calm down. You said I wasn't being nice, and that I didn't know the dif between right and wrong. You seemed to think that I thought pool hopping was "right". I don't. You insulted me and I responded. Did you think I should just sit there and be insulted? So it's ok for you to insult me, but not ok for me to stick up for myself?
Maybe you should take your time when you respond to someone, and not be so quick to say they aren't nice, when you don't have anything to back it up with. I explained nicely to you, that I wasn't disagreeing with you when you said you talked to someone from another resort. I can't help if you were defensive and read it with a different intonation than I put in it. Your response to my explaination shows a lot of sarcasm...which I think is uncalled for, since I said nothing about your right to post (however, the board does have rules about personal attacks, which I felt the brunt of from you... both when you said I didn't know the dif between right and wrong, and when you said I wasn't being nice), but if that's how you feel, you luckily, just like the rest of us, are allowed to post it. But again {sigh} the problem isn't pool hopping..we all agree that is bad, and we all seem to know that it isn't right.

Remember, I'm the one that saw the "Beverly Hillbillies" checking in at the GF. They were literally in overalls and flannel shirts (not that there is a problem with that in itself, please read on before flaming!), very unkempt and even "dirty", and had some severe dental problems (I'll leave it at that). They reminded me of Ted Kysinski (sp) after they pulled him out of the woods. Not what I would expect to see checking in at ANY hotel--even the "Gator Inn" down on 192 East.Anne [/B]

What does this have to do with pool hopping? I think that this statement is quite offensive and has nothing to do with the actual post about pool hopping. What does it really matter what someone looks like? Perhaps he/she was more comfortable without dentures. Hygiene and personal attire have nothing to do with pool hopping! The elitist attitude just infuriates me. OK now I will sit on my hands.

I'm not sure where the post I responded to above went..I went to get another snip of it to quote, and couldn't find it.

By the way..I prefer to not be misquoted..hence the following:

LvsTnk quoted me as saying:

I also believe you were saying that now All Of A Sudden people are saying that people said what resort they were from.

What I ACTUALLY said, which is different (I did not say All Of A Sudden), was:

(unless they actually hear someone..and yes, now some of you are saying you heard them..that's different)

I think that what I actually said was much nicer, than what was suggested I said. I could see if you read what she wrote, you would think I wasn't being nice. Please read carefully...I hate to be misquoted..especially if it makes me seem nasty or as if I was saying someone lied.

I'm not twisting your words, I'm only interpreting them. Perhaps incorrectly? Maybe so. I did get your point "Remember, I'M the one who saw ...", However the fact that you went to such lengths to describe those people is just rude and totally un-called for, IMHO. And we can agree to disagree ... like I said, makes life interesting. But sometimes our thoughts on others appearances/actions are best left to ones own "quiet voice in their head". Your post was very explicit and if that person were reading these boards, they would be very hurt by your public comments. Maybe they do need to be told ... but I feel that should be up to their own mother/doctor/sibling/close friend, whatever ... but certainly not a stranger. My "bashing" is a result of my complete disgust of people's comments about strangers. And I guess that would include some of the insinuations made about where I've stayed and where I haven't.

Like I said before, this thread is getting sad. Kind of surprised it has even gone on this long.

Hey there neighbor,
I'm a goin' pool-hoppin' at...what was that dang place called agin? Oh yeah, Disney Studio Kingdom World Land or somethin' like that. I'm a goin' to that there Volcanic pool at that purty Tahitian resort, then I'll just hitch me a ride in one of them nice fishin' boats and head on over to that Wildebeest pool and watch that explodin' well shoot water up in the air, then I'm a hoppin' to the Animal Lodge to bathe with some of them critters for a while. See y'all soon!

It was in response to people who were saying that you could tell what resort someone was staying at by what they were wearing. If you would BOTHER TO READ you would see that I was saying that you can't tell what resort someone is staying at by what they are wearing. Could I be any clearer for you?

My original words were "They were literally in overalls and flannel shirts (not that there is a problem with that in itself, please read on before flaming!), very unkempt and even "dirty", and had some severe dental problems (I'll leave it at that)."

I specifically said that there is nothing wrong with what they were wearing, although I DO find it repulsive when people are dirty and lack even minimally acceptable personal hygiene. Can you honesty say you want to be next to a person who looks and smells like they haven't showered for a month? I certainly don't think it's "elitist" to feel that people should take the time to bathe and brush their hair and teeth. I never said what their dental problems were, just that they had them. They had nothing to do with needed dentures, BTW. You put words into my mouth. Please take the time to READ before bashing next time.

If you're referring to me, I have no idea of where you have and haven't stayed. It really doesn't matter, and I've never belittled or bashed you because of your resort choice.

I don't care where anyone stays, as long as they don't expect to use the amenities reserved exclusively for the use of guests of another resort. (although I would suggest that people avoid the Gator Inn on 192--it looks like it's been closed down for about 12 years now :) )

That means if you stay at the GF, swim there. You don't have the right to swim anywhere you want just because you paid a heepin' hulkin' amount of money for your room.

I knew if this thread lasted long enough we'd get around to the real truth.

From my earlier post, referring to the snobby, elitist attitude that always permeates this topic...

"Hardly...it's much easier to spot that attitude than it is to spend hours watching the comings and goings of people at the pool. I'll admit, this thread is taking a little longer than some have to spell it out where it can't possibly be missed, but it's getting there...."

And now for the proof:

Remember, I'm the one that saw the "Beverly Hillbillies" checking in at the GF. They were literally in overalls and flannel shirts (not that there is a problem with that in itself, please read on before flaming!), very unkempt and even "dirty", and had some severe dental problems (I'll leave it at that). It's there....

Btw, your little theory on the mugs would be wrong as far as I'm concerned too. I have 2 WL mugs from our December trip. We're staying at OKW and you bet I'll be seen walking around the OKW pool with my WL mug and I don't give 2 cents for what you or anyone else thinks. If they don't like it, tough. Or, they can come to these boards and whine about the trash they saw hopping at OKW.

Overcrowding at the pools my backside...it's all about being nosy and worrying too much about what other people are doing. It's too bad that some people's vacations aren't enjoyable enough and they have to resort to this to entertain themselves.

Why is the moderator allowing all this bickering?

Maybe she's hoping if she lets it go on..it'll finally be out of everyone's system?

Again, reread the post and take it in the manner it was intended. Stop trying to put words into my mouth.

Stop thinking you know everything about me and what I think, because you're quite wrong.

My vacations are very enjoyable, except when I can't get a chair at the pool because of someone who has no right to be there. And I don't think that there's anything wrong or elistist with being upset about that.

My comment on what I saw happening at Disney On Ice just illustrates that there are people who think nothing of paying a lesser amount for something and then feel it is their right to take a higher priced 'whatever' because no one else is using it. If Disney states there is no pool-hopping, then there is no pool-hopping. Those in DVC know who they are and what they can do. I for one wouldn't mind if Disney put some kind of system in place so this would stop. I'm finding this discussion interesting except for the 'insulting tones' some have used. Can we agree to disagree and do it with courtesy and respect??? Hope so.

First.....some Moderators do other things besides just moderate the boards... we do have families.. houses and work...besides our work on the Dis.. so with that said...I just caught this....

This thread is no longer the type of information we like on the Resorts Board.. I am locking it now as I will not allow you to attack each other in this manner... If you have any questions about my locking it, please feel free to email a webmaster...

Have a great Disney Day...and let this one go..
