WL or Poly?

My DH and I are planning our 2nd anniversary trip to WDW and are trying to decide between the Poly & WL. We stayed at the Poly Concierge on our honeymoon and absolutely fell in love but now that we are planning a return trip can't decide if we should stay with the resort we love or try the WL which we are told is so great!

What do you all think? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and inside tips or tricks would be fun on both resorts.

Anyone have any ideas if or when there will be any AP rates for Sept 04? I know they never issued them for this year... holding our breath that we will be able to get some kind of discount.

I don't know about next year AP rates, they are completely unpredictable. However, there weren't any AP rates for September this year. Good luck.

We are doing poly concierge in December. We can't wait!!! WL is cheaper, but only has convenient transportation to MK.

WL had hot tubs, Poly does not. I really enjoyed them at our stay at WL. We just got back. Sept evenings do cool down quite a bit so a hot tub soak is very relaxing.

WL also has Artist Point for a romantic dinner, plus its very very easy to shoot accross the lake for a romantic dinner at CA Grill.

Since you've stayed at the Poly before, try something new! We've stayed at CR & WL. I think we're going to stay at the Poly our next trip. It's sure hard to change when you find wonderful hotels, but I want to stay at **all** Disney hotels (at least the delux ones) before I start to repeat.

I agree with Kimberle, try something new!!

I have read great things on these boards about WL. We are staying Poly concierge in Jan for DH's 30th b-day but it is his first trip in nearly 18 years (but shhh - it's a surprise) : and I wanted a monorail resort. But if we go back I think AKL or WL would be our next choice!!

Either way you'll have a great time I'm sure.

It's so great to hear all the feedback... we really appreciate it.

We're not sure how much we would be enjoying the hot tubs. When DH and I went last Sept, the last thing we were thinking of was how to get warm... kept the A/C at 60 most of our stay...

We loved the water mice at the Poly and are glad they are available at both... price is definitely a driving factor and we would like to try something new... keep the responses coming... it really helps!!

We're all ears!!

I stayed at the Poly during my first trip as an adult about 6 years ago, and it was a dream come true. Literally, as, since I was a child, I'd dreamed of being able to stay in the beautiful, tropical hotel, just a monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom. I will never, ever forget that trip as long as I live.

But, that said...

I'd vote for the Wilderness Lodge. I've stayed at both, and while I enjoyed the Poly and loved every minute of that trip, the Wilderness Lodge proved to be something so much more. The way it is nestled in the woods, it, like the Poly, lets you feel as if you're in another time and place entirely. But having already experienced the "time and place" offered by the Poly, why not try something new? And trust me, it's anything but disappointing! Although I've never been lucky enough to go there with a significant other, the place just oozes romance. Picture yourself sitting in front of the fireplace, holding hands as you go back and forth in your rockers. Or wandering through the woods (again, holding hands...)... and the sight of the resort rising up as you ride the boat over from the Magic Kingdom is just breathtaking, especially at night.

Either way, you're sure to have a fantastic time. But I'm gonna vote for the Wilderness Lodge (which I've stayed at three times now).

I voted WL! I'm a WL Vet...so would you expect anything different! But, we are trying the Poly on our next trip to compare.
WL's theming is amazing! Everytime we enter the lobby doors to register for our stay, it feels like we have come home! A Very Warm Feeling!

We've stayed at both, and I prefer the warm ambiance of the WL. DH on the other hand would rather stay at the Polynesian.

It's all a matter of personal preference!

The WL really blew me away with it's theming! It just felt so warm and cozy. The Poly is very nice, don't get me wrong, I just prefer the look and feel of the Wilderness Lodge.
