Which resort would you chose for Christmas?

I have stayed at both, August 06 @ CR-mk view and Dec. 06 WL woods view.

DH loves CR because the convenience of being on a monorail resort, my son likes it too and the Castle view, personally, I've seen it once, it was beautiful but thats it, didn't do much for me.
I love WL, especially for Christmas. It has more of a Disney feeling than CR but the beds at CR are wonderfully comfortable.....which would you chose?

Did WL get new beds during the resent room refurbishment? If so, then the beds will be comfy there too! :)

I really dislike the new rooms at both resorts, but will be at WL in early December because of the holiday decorations, fireplace in the lobby etc. :)

Also, remember some construction will be going on at CR and the shops are (not sure when it will be finished) now carts. Maybe none of the transition will matter, but worth considering when making a decision.

Christmas in WDW will be magical no matter where you stay, I bet!! :)

From allearsnet.com:

"The North Garden wing is being demolished. The tennis courts and playground are also gone.
Big changes are coming to the Contemporary Resort. The Arcade has moved from the first floor (Food and Fun Center) to the 4th Floor. The Food part of the Food and Fun Center will close in July to be converted to a new table service restaurant. Beginning July 30, 2007, a temporary quick service restaurant called Tempo Grab and Go will operate near the Outer Rim lounge on the 4th Floor. It will be open through August 14, 2008. The new table service location will be called The Wave, and is tentatively set to open in late March or April 2008. Once The Wave opens, the Concourse Steakhouse will close and a new, permanent quick service restaurant will be constructed in that space, set to debut in mid-August 2008."

I would pick the Contemporary because the Magic Kingdom view is the best possible view in all of WDW and since it sells out fast, I would take the next room that is available. I am not sure the dates the OP would be going there in December, so just for fun I was on the WDW website and put in the dates checking-in December 20, checking-out January 1 and a Magic Kingdom view room was available.

As for the renovation it's not as bad as other may think it is and here is why. The construction where the North Garden Wing use to be does not effect anyone staying in the Tower or South Garden Wing, the arcade moved to the 4th floor a few months ago, the Concourse Steakhouse is not set to close until April 2008, so no construction on the 4th floor until it closes. The location where the Food & Fun Center use to be will be closed off and covered up, so guests won't see the renovation and as for the lobby renovation, expect for check-in how much time do you really spend there? So as you can see by my explanation the renovations are not that bad, at least during the time when the OP would be in WDW.

Having stayed at both, I would definitely pick the WL!! It is the best resort by far at Christmas!! Nothing will get you in the mood for Christmas more than sitting in the lobby with a hot cocoa and a chocolate chip cookie and looking at the wonderful and HUGE Christmas tree in the lobby!!:santa: Oh...I cannot wait till December 8th!! WL Old Faithful Club, here we come!!
(ps.There are new beds at the WL and they are oh so comfy!!)

WoW! These are the exact dates I am going!

Since it is at Christmastime I would pick the WL hands down. If it were at any other time I would go with the CR. We love both of these resorts, but at Christmas the WL just cant be beat. I dont really like the decorations the CR has for Christmas.

At Xmas....WL, hands down.

Any other time of year: CR, hands down.

I can't think of any resort that would give more of a Christmas feel than WL.

WL is the best resort for the holidays...gorgeous
