I got tired of waiting for an AP rate for November stay (we wanted a concierge room at AKL) and opted for a AAA rate on a concierge room at WL. Has anyone out there stayed on the 7th floor before?? How does the concierge service and food compare to the AKL or Poly concierge floors?? We have stayed in a regular room at WL before and really like the resort but I don't know anything about the level of concierge service there (in fact I didn't even know they had a concierge floor!!). All info appreciated.
Thanks

Hi!

Well, considering that we just (last night) got home from the WL, let me
tell you what happened. We got to the WL and checked in. We had requested
bunk beds and a small fridge (we know that the fridge is extra $$ but having
it is worth it). We asked about the beds/fridge and the front desk cast member
indicated that we not only had the bunk beds, we had been upgraded to the
concierge level. We were (of course) very appreciative.. We had used
the AP rates for this trip...

When we got up there, we were met by the lead concierge (there appeared
to be two or three up there at any given time), and introduced to the
services that they offered. We had no need of Guest Services, as they
would take care of dinner/golf, etc reservations for you. Then we got
the snack schedule, and were very pleased. They ran a continental
breakfast from 7-10, snacks from 10-4:30, wine and cheese (but really
much more) from 5-7, and cordials/desserts from 8-10pm.
The wine and cheese selection was much more -soup of a different kind
every night (from lobster/seafood bisque to chicken vegtable to cream
of mushroom) and finger foods, but they were things like ribs from Artist point,
chicken wings, and stuff like that. My DW and I tend to graze at WDW so's
the wine/cheese/finger foods was perfect for an early smackerel. We then
just snacked on desserts in the parks.

Dessert was things like brownies, cookies, and a fruit cobbler that was
delicious. A number of cordials were available, also.
We also got voicemails every morning with weather reports and park hours.

The concierge service really made my day when I had to ship a fairly large
bin back home. I had done this late in the evening at the front desk, and
thought everyghing was OK. I checked in at the concierge desk and the
indicated that the package forms had a "problem" . Well, they didn't have
my FEDEX account ## on them. I had clearly indicated that they were
to charge the fees to my room. The concierge saw this, and took the forms
downstarts to the front desk and all my problems magically went away.
They even had my fedex tracking numbers in my folio in the WDW WL
computer system.

I am not sure what the concierge service costs at WL over a room, but we
may decide to spend the $$ for it when we stay there again. We now
need to check out the other concierge service floors at the other resorts..

Have fun, and good luck!

Thanks so much for the response...that is exactly what I wanted to hear...Where was your room?? I would love one with a view of MK fireworks, but don't know what to ask for. Any suggestions??

I am already missing the berry cobbler. Excellent discription of the concierge level :) To add to that,, they came thru for me on many levels of service, booking for the Lunch with a Disney Artist being one, and great seats for the Hoop De Doo Music Review. I will definately go concierge again.

Hi ho...
We were in room 7118, which looked south towards the DVC villas.
Was very nice, as there are woods next to the villas, so we were serenaded
with lots of birds talking to each other in the AM when we were on our balcony.

Have fun! we'll definately try for concierge service (it appears to be worth
the extra $$)

John
