Colleen - I prepare for back-to-back long runs the exact same way that I prepare for just one long run. If anything, I do the first LR slower than normal, and I don't do any speedwork during the back-to-back long runs. Vitamin C is good after long runs...I suppose it's good to have anytime you are training hard. I agree with Steve that you need to re-carb load after the first LR, and ice is nice after any LR. Although after the 1/2 last year for the Goofy I did a warm epson salt bath instead of an ice bath. Didnt have any bad effects on my legs from what I can tell. If you want to try it, I recommend trying it on one of the back-to-back training runs instead of saving it for Goofy. You know the saying...dont try anything new on race day.
Jodistar - bring your proof of time to the expo and ask them if it qualifies you for a better corral placement. Last year I upgraded to corral B (from D I think) for the 1/2 with proof of time.
Dave - Don't underestimate the value of Vitamin R (rest). All those muscles and microtears in your legs need time to heal.
Kevin - yeah, your'e going Goofy with the rest of us. You have time to get up to distance by then. We'll all make sure you finish, even if we have to drag you across that finish line. At your speed though, you will finish before I do!
Judy -

and

for Mist. We're all here for you.
Congrats to Bree!!! We'll be doing the same thing in March. Where has the time gone??
Today was a short run, one of those runs that went great! 4 miles in under 40 minutes. I dont have my garmin in front of me right now, but mile 1 was 8:50 and mile 2 was 9:10. Gotta love the new Asics Kayanos!

Great...now I will have to buy a $130 pair of running shoes from now on. Another score for this "free" sport!
I know I missed a lot of you, but stick with the training. You can do it. This is approaching the most difficult part of the training, and the miles will start to add up. Keep a positive outlook, and picture yourself at the start line, running through the castle, and crossing the finish line. We're all in this together!
