Scott: I think it's Maura who indicated a responsible scavenger hunt was in order. I blame her for being level-headed anyway. And in response to your query:
Oh and that 50 state club...hmmm..let's see...is that the club in which you have...OH NEVERMIND....
Yes, yes it is. I assume you're a member?
I too, love
The Mole. I particularly obsessed about Andersoon Cooper in the day, who apparently felt he was slumming. (He was, but he served me well as eye candy.) Sorry to hear about your creepy, eerie run. I think you might now have had the experience to write your horror screenplay featuring a runner. At least, that's as much experience in that area as I ever want you to have. Use your (great, vivid) imagination for the rest. And post it on your blog. Please!
Amy:
Sooo...the 50 state thing...ummm....my mind has thought of a few possibilities as to what that could mean...ahem....care to enlighten me?
Oh, I think you know what I'm talking about. Any reason to travel and spend quality time in a hotel room indeed.

I'm so glad you're feeling better; I can't imagine being laid out with food poisoning. (Doesn't tend to be common for us veggies.) Have you solidified your Vegas plans yet?
And not to be a nag, but are you resting your legs enough? I wasn't able to tell from your description of your WOs and the replace the cycling with a run story. Just saying....
Tracy: Enjoy your massage--maybe you and Scott could share an appointment? Now THERE's a mental image for you! Woo hoo for your pace and feeling smoother. And, wow, forearm sideplanks are tough!!! Amy is a taskmaster, isn't she? I wonder if it's because we don't pay her enough for her expertise? Oh, wait, she volunteers her time and expertise here, doesn't she? We really don't pay her enough. Maybe she'd accept some of your ice cream as a barter. (Not mine, of course.)
Allyson: Wow, you've been busy, busy, busy. I'm just amazed you're managing to keep up with things. I know you know this, but don't sweat progressing on the C25K right now. You're building up the strength so that you'll reach that 20 minute threshold and it'll seem easy. You're building strength with each session.
Howard: You know, a year ago I don't think I would have understood running to celebrate a milestone. I mean, I would have tried to understand. Maybe I could have pretended to, said the right things. But I think I get it. And I'm very, very happy for you for all that you've accomplished and how you're observing the occasion. Now, good luck with finishing out those last few requirements--that looking interested thing during presentations is a killer, IMO.
MLA: I know exactly what you mean. My cats
need me in the morning, especially, just when I should be lacing up the shoes. And cats don't seem to be at all impressed by the idea of a run, at least not like dogs are. WTG with W1D2. You show those cats who's boss--or who feeds 'em!
Teri: Evil, evil blisters. We hates them. Good to know you're in for Goofy 2010--me too. Bad news about the doctor's appointment--how inconvenient. I hope your decision to move forward means your ankle really is feeling okay and that you'll take it easy in testing it out. Wouldn't want you hobbling around WDW.
Bill: Have you told Billy about unbirthdays yet?

I'm positive Lynnda's cake was fantastic--she's so talented. What's your next marathon? I actually think DOOD thinks you're all a figment of my imagination. Okay, maybe not quite a figment. I do think he believes I may be having an online love affair with many of you. I'm just not sure if he's crossed Mike off the list yet.
Carrie: I can always count on you to put me in a more positive place. You'll appreciate that I do think the race proved my core is stronger and I'm managing to run in a more Chi-like manner. I cannot believe how long your days are--how do you find time to do anything except work, eat, and sleep?I hope you don't need to work out of the main office often.
Amykab: Irish flu? It's been forever since I heard that term. For your sake I wish it was, as your DD would be less likely to get that than the actual flu (I hope). Anyway, rest well and fuel/hydrate well before WO!!
Leana: More great WOs. Some of the things I admire about your reports are how you "seize the day" to take advantage of the good weather and how you enjoy spontaneous opportunities for adventures and activities.
Vic: You're so low-key, no-stress, even with an injury. It must be the influence of your day job, huh?
MB Michelle: Oh, and understand what you mean about DH not being a Disney fan. DOOD kind of treated Disney like the bait to get me interested in running, so our two interests have merged. So I'm impressed that you embraced running and tri as a means to your theme-park end. I'm not sure about this, but I get the impression that the swim portion is a lot of people's weakest area, so I'm sure you'll have a better showing than you think. A 1/2 mile sounds really impressive to me, anyway.
Morgan: I loved the parts of the city that I saw, although I admit that I might have liked them better if I were touring dry. We did see the Arcades on Monday. Very cool. And THANKS so much for the restaurant recommendations. I really liked the 4th Street Bar and Grill, and they treated me very well.

As for race bibs, I don't have that many, but I follow DOOD's pattern. After the race, I record everything I can think of on the back of the bib: what I ate, how I felt during the race, the conditions, my time, any places where I struggled. Then I file them away as mementos after transferring that information to my training journal.
Craig: You flatter me with your kind words. Now if you'd just reward me with a plane ticket to Paris.

I hope you're having a great time and find very few reasons to, er, practice your French.
Steve: Did you say scrap heap or scrap book?

No matter, you won't have time to miss those bibs with your new bike and intense biking plans. (I assume they're intense, as a new bike tends to get lots of infatuated attention in this household.)
Aloha Jeff: Thanks for the passing along the warning about the heat. It sounds like it's going to be a rough time.
Krista:
on getting your hot-dog craving satisfied. But I have to wonder at your interest in a chili dog instead of a Coney Island dog. (Loyal Detroiter here.) I can only imagine how active Carter would be after one of those!!!
Pat: I looked at your race schedule this year. You are doing some a lot of races. When it comes time to hit ND, do the Fargo Marathon. (I think there's maybe one other marathon in the state.) It's a nice flat course--no, seriously, it's flat. It may snow when you're there (late May), but it's flat. And for a race as small as it is, there are a lot of spectators.
Angie: I'm so proud of you for concentrating on your rehab with the foam roller, stretching, strength training, etc. I keep thinking about the Panda's rehab and improvement since his injury. He's come back stronger than ever--and I know if you keep this up, you're going to have a great January race. Just keep it nice and easy for a while. Btw, how's your DH doing?
TXAng: I hope the woman I talked to, or some of her group, will drop by. She seemed genuinely interested in how many different athletes we had with different goals, fitness levels, etc. I hope I was a good rep for WISH. Speaking of hope, I hope your W5D3 went successfully.
As for me: No ice cream today. Still trying to recover from the post-race consumption of the pint of Chunky Monkey (see excessively long RR). I still swear I gave DOOD his fair share of it.
I also did some light XT today, as did DOOD. Some really low-resistance elliptical and stationary bike, followed by lots of stretching. I wanted to do more today, thought I'd do some core, but got caught up in catch-up tasks. Tomorrow, though, I'm back to being on board with Pilates. Straight as a board I'll be (flat as one, too).
