Okay, I thought the packing was supposed to be the time-consuming part of moving?

I'm so far behind since moving that I'm just going to try to catch up with this week's posts.
Mel: Thanks for the links. Loved the idea of master's awards by number of events. That seems like it would be very motivating. DOOD and I have limited our events this year for economic reasons. Cutting back on the travel, too, unless it's on foot or by bike. (I hear Aloha Jeff buzzing in my ear.)
Cecilia: Wow, I can't believe how hot it is in your area. It's definitely makes sense to become a morning lark. Oh, and congrats on being a Phidippides gold candidate. How's your tri training coming--is that part of the reason for stepping up your XT?
Kira: I need to go back and reread last week's posts, but

sound in order for you and DD.
Julie: Congrats on your run in the heat. I think you should be very proud of yourself, as that's no small feat. (Me, weather wimp. 'Nuff said?)
Kim: Great news on the walking, losing weight, and running consistently. I think your pace is terrific--who knows, we could pace each other at a future race. I hope you continue to keep us updated here as to what's going on.
Tracy: Add me to the list of people who felt for Big Brown. At least his DLF didn't appear to be from injury. And yeah for Kasey, of whom you're a big fan, right?

for your 7 miles, but you know what I really celebrate? No, not the ice bath--even if it is hot enough to almost make one sound good. That recovery drink of yours. Dairy + chocolate. Mmmmm...

Btw, are you training for an upcoming event or is this DL 1/2 training?
Vic: That mowing--sounds like a workout and a challeng in the heat. There should be a lawn-maintenance event with bling you could sign up for, don't you think?
Kathy: I'll need to check out the new thread. In the meantime, congrats to your DD and the whole family! Do you get a special, discounted consultation fee as a family member? Or do your payments contribute to repaying the medical-education bills?
Judy:
and carrots for Mist. And WTG on your LR (counts in my book) and TM work. I might want to move into your basement if the heat continues, even though you've dropped the hint that relief might be headed your way. (Might have missed us.)
CarolA: Good luck with the desktop situation. I'm betting your computer died of heat exhaustion, since the head seems to be this week's theme for many of us.
Shaily: Wow, your strength training routine sounds rigorous. Given your description of your running, swimming, and other WOs I'd say, yeah, you enjoy challenging yourself. I'm so impressed with your undertaking swimming "lessons" and think you've definitely got the will to succeed.
Terri: I just love that you were cycling in tandem with the Pro cycling championship. Almost like being there, huh? But since when is spinning "a break" from mowing, especially if it's followed by core work?
Steve: Wow, I'm glad you didn't experience really bad repercussions from your afternoon run, and that you were aware enough to walk at the end, shower, and take it easy. It's a good warning for us all. And you need to be in tip-top condition, as it sounds like you've a very busy social summer ahead of you with weddings, showers, and family visits. Not to mention Carter's pending, permanent "visit." Good thing you're an endurance athlete!
Howard: Great XT and getting out there before it gets really hot (relatively speaking). And nice job trying to keep Steve in line. (Gotta watch out for that one, you know.

)
Krista: Sounds like you have your hands full. Good practice for Carter's future as a "terrible toddler"?

(Trying to make a Steeler ref, but am afraid that it is too obscure.)
Lily: I'm with you--just getting the steps in whenever I'm outside. (Which is minimal these days as I'm willing to use the TM if I'm not up early enough.)
Aloha Jeff: It sounds as if you had a great time camping, and the peach cobbler sounds delicious. I don't remember making anything like that in the Girl Scouts. (Oh, wait...I got kicked out of Brownies.... Geez, if I'd known what good food was in store for me, I would have tried to be reinstated.) Tell Mooshu we're proud of her! Oh, and I got the Chi Running DVD. I'll watch it and send it on--Thanks!
Shan: I can't believe your surgery is coming up so fast! No more than a gallon of milk, that's it?

I can't imagine being restricted like that--and the no-driving can be a pain. It'll all be worth it, though! And you'll have plenty of time to plan your January trip, now that you've mapped out your Donald training!

In the meantime, PD for your left quad.
Shannon: Hey, I'm impressed that you cleaned house, did 3 miles, and have Pilates on the schedule, especially in this heat. Btw, if you do happen to spot the Cleaning Fairy ask her what I need to put under my pillow to ensure a visit.
MLA: Glad you had a great time at WDW! And were very active, too. Hopefully your DSF will get an a/c soon, although if it's anything like here there's been quite a run on them. (Not sure where Eagleville is in PA, but I know it's hot all over the state.
As for me: My schedule's been all messed up since last week's move and this weekend's attempt to unpack. Such a small change, you wouldn't think it would interrupt my routines that much. But it has. I'm finally getting back in the swing of things here. After a week of XT, unexpected rest days, and one run, I'm just starting to get back on a regular schedule. My moving bruises are healing--does anyone else get these--and I'm no longer sore in strange places. (Just the familiar ones.) I did a short 3-miler yesterday on the TM because I didn't get up early enough to avoid the full-on heat (sleeping schedule is still off, so I'm working out at odd hours. I need to get back into the a.m. groove).
But my new place only has one small a/c unit, not enough to keep me sane. So I'll be doing that annoying summer-movie-watching thing: picking a moving based on start time and location. Tonight's choice is
Young at Heart. It's a mere .6 miles from home.

That's worth the walk, don't you think?
