Tracy, Aloha Jeff, Susie, Mooshu (thought I'd throw Marcia's name into the hat), and everyone else doing DL 1/2: I'm getting so jealous of you all! Even with the heat! One of you folks, please do IJ for me while you're there. I love that attraction! And the Matterhorn.
Alohoa Jeff: So...how did you like your double-feature of Indy Jones and Kung Fu Panda? Enough action for you? (Better than running?) And what would your chiro have to say about all that sitting? I love the clinic's work with the 10-11 miler. I think getting that experience on what a race course might look like would be very valuable--if it didn't scare the pants off people! (Of course, that would be quite a sight.) I can hardly wait for your full Garmin review!!! (Same goes for
Tracy.)

It sounds like it's got a slight learning curve, but that you're liking it.
Tracy: Hello, drippy and pouring Trashmore queen.

I think those are great descriptors for one's efforts. I'm not a dewy, glistening woman; I'm a sweater, so I appreciate the labels. And I'm liberating them, just so you know. Sometimes all that sweating makes me appreciate ice (let alone ice cream) all the much more. Note I didn't say ice baths, just ice and ice cream. (That' last comment is a shout-out for
Carrie, whom we all miss!) And in what flavor of ice cream did you indulge? I have Dublin Mudslide in my freezer calling gently out to me. I'm sorry to hear your co-workers are injured and ill, and hope it doesn't cause too much stress for you as well. Do any of them train with you?
Carrie: And today, just when I decided to give you the shout-out, you posted! Great minds, huh? I DIDN'T know about Scott's dad, but here's sending PD to you, Scott, DFIL and your whole family for good news from the Mayo Clinic regarding a successful marrow/stem cell transplant. I hope you're enjoying swimming as a way to shake up your WO plan. It sounds like you're looking forward to your tri!
Jackie: Wow, a couple of stonkers in a row. At least you and Cynthia were having dialogues with your bodies--mine often tends to be a monologue (even if I'm the one doing the talking)! And you could commiserate. Here's hoping this week goes better for you. It sounds like your body is appreciating the R & R, at least.
Howard: "Headaches in my ankles." Great description! And great job listening to your body and taking it easy when times call for it. That's some smart running. I can only imagine how your Goofy is going to really be a fabulous run this year! (And you deserve it, having read your back story.) Yeah for all your runs and for getting your 3rd-best-ever 5K in, and without any ankle pain.
Lily: Each WO is another step forward! Great to hear from you!!
Mel: Wow, you really rocked your run, especially coming back from walking mile 3. I think your decision not to do any major training is paying off with enjoyment and the overall quality of your runs. (Despite the first part of your post....)
Jim: Welcome! This is a great place to find support and even motivation! Advice, too. Many of us have or are working our way through variations of C25K, so post your progress and ask away. I'm so envious that you get to be part of the inaugural Expedition Everest, and look forward to your RR on that one! You're a night runner, huh? And at midnight. Wow!
Dave: It sounds like your Garmin-free runs have been good for you. Just like with Mel, you're enjoying yourself AND achieving great times. I knew the iPod has a stopwatch feature. I don't think I've ever used out--I do have a Nike+, though, and know it's timer isn't accurate. Yay for your long Disney vacation with the family! You all deserve to have a great time, especially after the stress of your last (academic) year. Congrats on your new job--it sounds like a good move for you and your family.
Vic: Half a pot of coffee? Man, I think I could run fast if I had that much. Not only because of the caffeine kick, but because I wouldn't want to be too far away from my bathroom.
Susie: Yay for all the good WOs you've been doing. That'll keep you in some cardio health--and your bike riding sounds like it was fun, at least. I'm sure Craig can get you through to the DL 1/2 if anyone can. Plus, it's not like you're starting entirely from scratch. You did do the Minnie!
CarolA: This week sounds like it will fly by. I hope you have so many interviews that your dance card fills up by tomorrow. And that you receive so offers that you feel confident in whatever decision you make--even if it means going out on your own. It must be flattering to be the belle of the interview ball. And you deserve good news like that!
Craig: Thanks for the background on Howard. Wow! Of course, I think what you do is pretty amazing, too, and admire how you're training smart! What made you decide to have an easy fun full in January? Just curious.
Maura: Besides the shoes, is there any reason you don't believe you overpronate? I only ask because it sounds as if you didn't believe the ortho before the run. Great pace, btw! And I hope you get the issues settled.
Cam: I'm so glad you had a great time on your 5K--AND that you got to run with Patty on her first 5K. What a great experience in so many different ways. Yay for both of you for finishing in the top five in your AG, and for finishing back-to-back! And you're registering as a RUNNER! What a big deal! Your training plans, with a PT, sound wonderful--and I have no doubts that you'll see lots of good things come out of it. Including your fitting for your VR gown in October. Btw, I hope you picked a trainer who's easy on the eyes. Hey, I take motivation where I can find it. So sue me. (Actually, you probably could. So strike that.)
Kira:
for checking in from AZ! I'll have to check out the pics on your blog. And WTG with running in no shade. That's determination!!! (More than I might have in your situation.) I just knew you'd be able to work in running on your trip.
MLA: A happy hour 5K? I've never heard of such a thing...but I like it, I like it! I bet the biking trails you've been using are just beautiful. Do you take a camera along, or is it more speed-focused?
Jen in GA: Wow, third trimester already?! It seems like only yesterday....(I'll bet you--and
Krista--think otherwise). I didn't realize your mom was doing the 1/2 with you. A whole family of runners--that's so cool. I wish I had advice on the double-wide, but unless you're talking trailer parks I've got nothing. I come from a classy extended family, I do.

(Not that there's anything truly wrong with trailer parks--it's just the stereotype that, unfortunately, my family fits.)
Judy: Congrats to both you and Charlie! I think you both did great, especially with the humidity and sporadic training! Electrolytes sounds like just the thing for Charlie. It must have been cool to see the Kenyans and Ethiopians. (Btw, I think it's okay to refer to the runners as such???)
Liz: Yeah, this thread is like a runaway horse sometimes, isn't it? I'm glad you enjoyed your duathlon enough to already talk about next time.... Enjoy your well-earned rest day!
Jen: Awww,

. When you lurk, we know it's because you love us. (At least when you tell us that you've been lurking, which means you're no longer lurking....Hmmmm....) Anyway, just know that we're here to give you as much PD, hugs, kisses, and encouragement as you need. And a

or two, as they make me smile and I hope they do the same for you.
Ang: Sorry that you decided not to do the DL 1/2, but we decided we couldn't $pend the time or money this year either. It's around that time that my motivation went missing, too. Makes me think that I need to have a Disney race always on my calendar. Do you know when you're going to DL?
Stephanie: Too bad about the no-yoga at BC. It sounds like a fun run happened, though. And even more fun with your GFs. Any risque stories you'd like to share?
As for me: Not much to report. 4 miles today, then some biking. I really need to listen to the body, as Jeff said, and stretch more.
I'm also having Garmin envy. But before any of you make too much of that, sometimes a Garmin is just a Garmin.
