Hey all... I had bootcamp last night and again she kicked our butts. She changes things up and that is really cool to keep things fresh. My knee was bugging me earlier in the week, but yesterday it was just fine. Tomorrow is a cut back week for my LR... so excited about that!!!
Judy - Here are my thoughts on an ice bath. Last year when I was training for the 1/2, I started taking them after every run that was 7 miles or more. Mostly because it was new mileage and I was a tad bit sore. I usually took the bath about 30 minutes to an hour after the run, just because that is how long it would take me to get home. And I usually ate something first. In January after the 1/2 I took an ice bath... I didn't take for the rest of the year until Marathon training started and I did my 14 miler. I just didn't feel like I needed one. Now I have taken one for every mileage over the 1/2 marathon mileage, because it is new miles and I was feeling sore after the run. For the 2 other marathons I did this summer, I didn't take any ice baths. Hope that helps, I think it is more how you feel than the mileage you do.
WOW, that was lengthy.
So, we haven't gotten much for snow, but we have had incredible COLD weather the last 2 weeks. It's so cold and iced over that I can't run outside. We don't get warm enough during the day to melt the junky ice and snow on the roads and paths. When I wake up, it is usually around 0 degrees Fareheit. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
